HELP WITH A DELL JUNK COMPUTER.
I purchased a Dell lap top with life time V-tech support and a full year warranity from Dell. Well the dell computer warrinity is the same as HSN, only will replace computer for one month.
First time i called V-tech for problems they tried to sell me a antivirus package. Isn’t this a rip off having allready using Viper? I had so many problems with my puter and bothering them with calls to fix puter that V-tech flagged my puter and refused to give me support and sent me to the supervisor Austine who said i need a new puter..He said they were only fixing patches i deserve a new puter because when warranity runs out they were going to charge..
Now starts the calls to HSN customer support. They were so helpful-NOT. They gave me a number to call Dell customer support. I got a Sanjay S. who said all my problems with puter was viruses, not getting updates and no way they were replacing my puter.
I have had to mail my puter three times now to be repaired. Every time new hardware was replaced. I have had use of this puter for half the time i’v had it. I have had to reinstall windows numerous times on my own.
I just got back my puter from being fixed and not one week later i could not get online. I called technical support from Dell. They automaticall said it was O. S. fault and transfered me to connection specialties who says right off the bat i must pay them for the service. No way i said. So i called V-tech and they said i had to refresh my puter to restart again to get a driver started that failed.
I have pulled my hair out over this lemon puter. Both Dell and HSN thinks they are too big to give me some real customer service. I deserve it after all of these disaters.
I guess i will have to confine all my shopping to Kohls. I had a complaint once with them. I posted it on their site and was called the next day by both corporate and manager of the store. They cleared my complaint and gave me a shopping spree both by gift card and percentage off. That is real customer service and keeps me going back to them.
You and Dell should keep this in mind and taking care of people instead of hiding behind call centers in India when you can’t understand a word they say. I have spent hours saying “what did you say”?
Calling people idiots will NOT get you help. That is the most likely reason you were flagged by support.Sounds like there is more going on than just a simple computer problem. If you have sent it back three times and they repaired it that is at least one more than most places would have done so.
If you have had to install Windows numerous times on your own and drivers failing, etc sounds like something is being deleted or messed with that is affecting the operating system. If you are trying to do anything on your own regarding the registery or deleting files that you aren’t 100% certain what they are that could the problem..If you have viruses more than once you need to note sites you go to online and never open an email attachment because it can launch on your system and nothing you can do to stop it and many times you won’t know it is there. If its a root kit virus even a virus program can ignore it because it has control of the computer.Just guessing from your post but it sounds as if you keep getting a rootkit virus in which case you would have to reformat and possibly other steps because simply doing a reinstall of Windows would not get rid of it.Try to determine where you may possibly be picking up the virus.
This appears to be more of an end-user issue than a computer issue.
As you stated numerous times, your system is infected. Even with multiple fixes, it happens again. It sounds like you, or someone in your home, is doing something which causes the machine to be infected, and you cannot blame HSN, Dell, or VTech for an issue that they did not cause.
When millions of people buy these machines, use them with no issues, and have no significant problems, but you do, maybe you need to look at yourself.
And yes, I do think that there are times that it may be the machine itself, but if you hae treated tech support and customer service with the same hostility and contempt you have on these boards, is it any wonder why no one wants to go the extra mile to provide you with a resolution?
, I’m truly sorry to hear that you’ve been having so much trouble with your Dell laptop. I see your order was from October of last year and is unfortunately well past our 30-day return period so you would need to reach out to the manufacturer’s warranty department for further help with the item. For further assistance, you can reach them by calling 1-800-624-9897.
I know, it’s hard to resist…sometimes I wish I hadn’t found them!
HMMM…….SOUNDS…..INTERESTING! :womanvery-happy: …GOOD LUCK! :womanwink:
Thanks FaireMaiden, nice looking bracelet great price!:womanhappy:
FaireMaiden, it’s nice to see you again. Thanks so much for posting this. We had it on this thread earlier before the price reduction that you mentioned, so there could be quite a few people able to take advantage of what you’ve posted here.
