Frenzy – Exclusions apply
Frenzy rules – prices shown reflect discount. Exclusions apply. What exactly does this mean? What exactly are the exclusions? Why would a person not get the price shown?
@pugnose – that’s a great question. There are different scenarios that would disqualify someone from the Savings Frenzy promotion. One of those would be if a customer used a coupon. I have included the terms and conditions for the Savings Frenzy sale below.
Limited-Time! Prices shown reflect discount.
Enjoy 50% off or more on thousands of items in the Savings Frenzy online store. Promotion is valid on Saving Frenzy items from 6/15/2017 at 12:01 a.m. (ET) to 6/21/2017 at 11:59 p.m. (ET). Clearance items in the Savings Frenzy store do not qualify for the Free Shipping on Clearance Purchase of $50 or More offer. Offer may not be combined with a coupon. Offer pertains to purchases initiated on HSN.com, HSNTV, HSN2 or mobile devices. TV and online orders cannot be combined. We authorize the full amount (including Shipping and tax) for each items at the time of purchase as you shop today before any discounts are applied. These charges will be adjusted with your financial institution at midnight on day of purchase. Offer valid from 6/15/2017 at 12:01 a.m. (ET) to 6/21/2017 at 11:59 p.m. (ET).
Thanks for reaching out and I hope this helps!
That is very misleading, nowhere does it say that the price in your cart (the sale price) is NOT the amount being authorized. Very sketchy.
The exclusions posted by HSNKrissy state “We authorize the full amount (including shipping and tax) for each items at the time of purchase as you shop today before any discounts are applied. These charges will be adjusted with your fininacial institution at midnight on day of purchase.” Are you saying it’s not listed in the exclusions on the home page?
Again, I don’t agree with this practice for retail purchases. Lizzie818 pointed out it’s the same method used by gas stations. In addition, restaurants also authorize a higher amount. Just being fair here, if it’s listed in the exclusions on the home page, HSN made us aware and it’s our choice to shop or not shop under their terms.
As I posted on another thread, the adjustments take 2 days, longer if you order on a Friday. There is no need to hold authorization for double the amount, ever! Why are you defending this practice? The gas stations in my area authorize $1.00.
I really don’t understand the “why” of it. If I buy something for $15 what is the point of holding it for $50 ? If I don’t have the $15 and I don’t have the $50 in my account it is all the same.
There were times I bought more than one item from HSN, especially in 1 week. There is a huge difference between several items at 15.00 dollars and several items at 50.00 dollars.
I used to get HSN products all the time, not so much anymore………………………….
There is still not an explanation as to why businesses want the price higher for a couple days. And if you aren’t using a debit card why do this at all?
