I have been watching HSN all week and I have found a few items that would be great for Christmas on Flexpay. I read before that there is a credit check but today the host said you don’t need to qualify everyone can get Flexpay with a Debit or credit card. I have a major credit card I just wanted to know if there is a credit check, or a chance you will be deniend. I am working on my Holiday budget and just want to be sure that I can get the flexpay.
I have to disagree with you TobyinKY, in my case it WAS HSN for my Citibank VISA. I had placed an order with my VISA card and before midnight decided to cancel it. I know from using my debit card, that it takes 3 business days to drop off. I had just gotten my VISA card and noticed 2 weeks later, the HSN order that I canceled was still showing in the pending file and reduced my available credit.
I call Citibank, explained that I had canceled the order so they would not be getting a charge for it and why after 2 weeks hasn’t the pending dropped off. I was told by their CS rep that they keep pending charges for 30 days UNLESS the vendor sends them whatever transaction it is called, to basically say the customer will not be charged fand they can release the hold. HSN had not sent them that transaction. It wasn’t that big a deal, in this instance, so I just waited the 30 days for it to drop.
Mom… Welcome to the Forums. Another thing you may want to condider is this—> If you use a Debit Card, HSN will have your Bank put a HOLD on those funds… just to make sure they can be paid for. But, if you decide to Cancel said Order before Midnight Eastern Time, your Order will be Cancelled, BUT, the Bank Funds HSN put a HOLD on will not be available to you for a further 3 DAYS!
HSN blames this practice on our Banking Institutions, but, who knows? Just thought I’d alert you since you did mention Debit Cards. Having gone thru this miasma when I first started shopping on HSN, I now only use a Credit Card, never a Debit Card, to buy stuff here.
