Electronic tablets sold on HSN
I have been on the verge of buying a tablet from HSN several times but have not because of some critical information that is never supplied in the presentations. (This goes for computers, too.) Does a tablet require virus protection? I assume that it does if you’re using it to go anywhere on the Internet. Also, some tablets (and most computers) come with word processing software such as Office Suite or Think Free Office. Is this software "backward compatible" with old Microsoft Word and Excel documents? Also, is the Office software subscription based, meaning you have to pay a yearly fee to use it? I realize the hosts have limited time to present a product, but answers to these questions are not even included on your website so that the customer service reps cannot have answers. Their response is to call the manufacturer’s 800-number which they supply. This is NOT helpful when you are viewing a product that has a deadline for obtaining a favorable price.
HSN, please have your hosts include this more serious information along with all the "playful" features that much time is devoted to. Most of your audience likely has computers that contain content and we’d like to know if a new computer/device is going to be safe and compatible with anything we want to transfer to it.
Hi , thanks for letting us know what you’re looking for in our product information. If you have a specific item you have questions about, let me know the item number and I’ll be happy to see if I can help.
Jax, I agree with you about the lack of necessary info for many electronic products. Often the processor # is not included. You might try posting the essence of your post on the Electronic thread because many helpful posters read that and might not see the thread on Customer Service. I realize that you posted it here because you wanted to make the point to HSN about the lack of essential info, but if you want feedback on a specific electronic item, you might want to try the Electronics forum. When I can’t get the info I need to make an intelligent purchase of an HSN item, I buy it elsewhere where I can.
Often the electronics items are not the newest products and that’s why there can be a good price, and that may also be why some details are omitted. And sometimes the TV presentation has actually been inaccurate. JMO based on some items that I have researched in the past.
