Charging for items before Shipping?
I ordered 2 of 506-418 on 7/16/17. The charges went thru my bank yesterday 7/18. But the items are still in packaging.
I thought you didn’t charge till the items shipped???
Please advise on this and thanks.

@trekky, I’ve reviewed your order and I’m happy to confirm the orders did ship out this morning and you can find the tracking numbers listed on your account. What it looks like happened is that the orders were packaged up and prepared for shipment but were not picked up by the courier as soon as expected. This doesn’t happen very often and I’m sorry it created a concern for you!
But you skirted around my question. Are you now charging before shipping? Previous to now I was not charged until shipping.
This was on my debit card and is NOT in my pending in the bank account. It has been released by the bank. Which means that HSN charged me probably a week before shipment. The bank does as the merchant tells them to do.
Is this a new policy?
I think the policy changed. My personal experience: HSN charges my credit card at the time of purchase, not when shipped.
I looked up “HSN Policies” and see that charging at the time of purchase is listed under “FlexPay” (for the first payment).
Also, under “Waitlist,” the policy reads: “We will bill your credit card on the shipping date, but never before ….” The “but never before” I see only under the policy for “Waitlist” (but I could be missing something somewhere else).
I, too, was surprised when I noticed HSN was charging my card before the item shipped only because I remember the policy used to be different.
@trekky, the majority of our orders are shipped the business day after the order is placed. However, there are some occasions when you may see a delay in the shipment. The most common cause for a delay is when we have an exceptionally busy day and a large number of orders are received at one time like our clearance days. You should receive tracking information for your orders by the end of the week and they should still arrive by the expected delivery date.
