I recently–yesterday evening–attempted to change my avatar. I deleted my old one and clicked on Save. Then I submitted my new upload photo and got the message that the pic was sent and I would get approved within 24 hours. I clicked on Save. However, I noticed for many hours that my original avatar was still on the forums. So I retried submitting the new pic. However when I clicked on edit, the box(that was supposed to say browse and upload) that would open was blank so I couldn’t do anything. And by now my avatar on the Forums was the default gray face.
Finally a short time ago I tried again and the box did open to let me upload a picture. And I got the message that the picture was received and that I would hear in 24 hrs. And before I clicked on Save the new picture was showing on my Profile page as it was yesterday. However, after clicking on Save the picture on my profile page became gray and I’m concerned that I’m waiting for a non-existent picture to get approved. The last time I created an avatar my new one stayed on my profile page while I was waiting for it to appear on the Forums.
Could you please check to see if there is a new avatar picture waiting to get approved? Thanks
Sarah, I do see my sheepness when I go to my profile, but it not showing up on the Forums. I take it that that will take a little longer. Thanks for your help. At least I’m not gray everywhere.
EDIT: Well, that was magic. As soon as I clicked on post for the above blue message, I showed up. So everything is fine. Thank you soooo much. I was gray for a long time and didn’t mind it; but after having an avatar for quite awhile, I didn’t like going back to gray. Your help is greatly appreciated!!
I just sent it again. When I went into my profile the gray default avatar had become a ‘black X box’ as it does on IE. That was the first time it looked like that over the last couple of days.
I deleted that and clicked on Save. Then I uploaded my new one and saw it on the Profile. I got the message in the Profile box that HSN had received it. I clicked on Save. Hope that you see it.
Hi DubuqueRams, I am sorry this is giving you some trouble! I checked and we do not currently have anything waiting for approval. Please try uploading it again and I’ll keep an eye on the approval for you.
