Sewing machine needles with large eyes
I haven’t done any sewing in about 20 years.I bought a little Nex mini sewing machine to do mending and small jobs,it’s a nice little machine but boy is it hard to thread that needle. Are there sewing machine needles for those of use with 64 year old eyes and fumbily fingers?
I gave in to temptation and bought the Singer Simple machine yesterday item 500-867,don’t know if it has an automatic threader like velveteenrabbit’s does.I just can’t lug my old machine around like I used to.also it looks really cute in raspberry.
It sounds like your machine doesn’t have an automatic threader. Have you tried a simple needle threader? Super easy to use and you can probably pick a couple up at the grocery store in the aisle where they sell sewing kits, shoe polish, etc.
My Singer sewing machine has a threader thingy that does the threading for me. It’s a little thing that you lower and cross the thread over it and then it pulls the thread through the eye. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d ever bother using it when I first got the machine, but now that my eyesight isn’t what it used to be, it is a godsend. And my eyes are only 49 years old! lol
