I am kinda tired of paper crafts.
There is a lot of other crafting to do too.
Yes thank you for starting this thread. I agree also there needs to be other crafts then just paper crafting, scrapbooking. HSN you used to include knitting, crocheting, rug hooking, lap loom weaving, etc. I am hoping that you will consider including these as you plan out your next 24 hour crafting day.
Now I understand and I think most of the crafters here would agree with you that we are tired of the all day craft days that show just paper supplies and tools. There was a thread that showed up several times about ‘What else would you like to see on Craft Day” or something like that. People made good suggestions but nothing changed, it’s still the same stuff, just the updated version. I buy a lot less than I used to because I have the original versions and they work fine. But I like a lot of things besides paper, too.
I also don’t understand why they don’t put the occasional paper crafting product on a day when they are doing other items instead of holding them for a special day. They could reach a whole new audience. Then spotlight new and different stuff on Craft Day.
I don’t have premium channels on my tv so I’m not sure if they are still around, but there used to be a lot of craft shows of all types on but now I don’t find anything but cooking shows and home renovation shows. I loved the old Carol Duval series and the lady that sewed (memory going). JTV has a morning jewelry making show twice a week but it’s mostly a sales show with hints. I don’t get the DIY channel, so maybe that’s where the crafting shows are. Everyone crafts these days, I can’t believe there aren’t more shows for us.
Oh I am sorry ladies, I wasnt too clear. I have never tried paper crafting, I would probably love it and go over board as I am prone to do. I am avid beader, knitter, crocheter, sewer. I would like to see, WATCH, some other crafts now and then rather than the heavy focus on paper crafts. I would enjoy a venue that I have yet to see, and that is the selling of rolls of decorative paper that could be used in various projects ( cover lamp shades etc) . I am not going to ever scrap book or make cards, just too busy with all of the above.
If your tired of paper crafting, try crocheting or knitting. There are all kinds of tutorials on YouTube to get you started. You can find all kinds of patterns for beginners. A good place to start would be with a set of coasters. So many cute ones to pick from on Pinterest. Hope you find a fun new craft. 🙋🏻💐
I am too! Everything on scrapbooking day is starting to look the same. Thanks for posting this!
I hate to hear anyone say they are tired of any kind of craft, but if you’ve maxed out on it and it doesn’t keep your creative juices flowing, mix it with something else. Here are a few things to try:
You can sew paper. Stitch together pieces to make gift pockets and envelopes. Stitch or glue bits of lace or leftover paper scraps to them before putting them together.
Paper isn’t always paper, sometimes it’s a canvas. If you put gesso on paper you can make it your background for a painting. Or glue small watch part, broken jewelry, loose rhinestone, lace to it to make a collage.
Look for paper in odd places and see what it says to you. Cut birds out of the cardboard sleeves that come on hot coffee. Cut old book pages into strips and cover boxes, or wooden spools. There is no end to what you can do with old book pages, they set my mind on fire.
Look on Pinterest for tons of inspiration. Maybe you aren’t tired of paper crafting, maybe the paper crafting supplies you are using just aren’t meeting your inner expressions any more. You may have outgrown them.
Good luck in your journey.
Seems like you may have hit a paper crafting block angelout. You may be on the verge of discovering another talent of yours if you take advice from Lovasz. Go out and see whats out there, what sparks your interest, and keep HSN in mind for finishing touches on your new interests. Keep us posted ; )
If you want other crafting then you need to go to a store that specializes in crafts of different genres, HSN is not that.
