Anyone Remember Donna Dewberry?
Have been watching the Crafter’s Companion demo for the Sheena Paint Fusion kits and kept thinking I had something very similar in the past….and finally remembered Donna Dewberry’s series on PBS in the early to mid 2000’s!!! I still have many of her charts, practice sheets and brushes, they were/are fantastic!!!
Any other painters or crafters remember her? Or used that technique? I must have painted everybody’s mailbox or birdhouse back in the day! LOL. I drifted into watercolors because of her and Terry Madden along with Susan Scheewe (Memory Lane trip) and today bought the Lilac kit so I can paint those for some cards. It’s always nice to see an older technique with a new spin.
Yes she is suppose to be on soon. I bought many of her products. I still have things around that I painted. Her technique has actually been around for many many years . She just made it so most could understand how to do it a little easier.
I look forward to seeing if she has anything new out.
She is still around, still selling products (even on HSN), why is HSN allowing this obvious knockoff?
Yes, I wish I still had all her tole books, they would come in handy right now. I learned Tole painting from watching her on TV and practising with books, then I took a class and was hooked! And it didn’t hurt that instructor was a huge fan of hers. Many fond memories!
A little late, but she was on here for the 24 hr craft day, she had a few presentations for her products, which sold out in some cases very quickly. Watch for the next Craft day, which I think is Sept 10-11th iirc. Hopefully she’ll be invited to bring back more of her goodies again. 🙂
YES!!!!! I bought many of her kits and still have the instructional tapes, brushes, books and some tools! I remember learning her methods of the double loading brush, the painting strokes for different looks and more. I loved her things! I remember I used all her teachings and products to do a BUNCH of things for my kitchen and home and even some gifts. Where was she on tv?? I haven’t seen her in YEARS! WHAT fun it was following her way of painting and creating such pretty and cute things!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! She’s on right now, gotta watch, I still love watching her work her magic!!!
I remember watching Donna Dewberry on PBS and am so excited to find out she is here today! I usually don’t watch the crafting shows because I thought they were all about making cards. Glad to know Donna is here with painting kits and stencils. 😀
LOL You know, I didn’t remember where I bought her kits, just that there were demonstrations, kits with brushes and paints galore. Guess it was QVC! I might still have her series on DVD.. I had a recorder back in the day and would record all the craft shows on PBS and HGTV… back when HGTV had crafting, beading and scrapbooking, not just house makeovers!
I remember Donna from her days on QVC. I also take notice that they are having Donna Dewberry on Craft Day at 9am for those who wanted to see her again.
Wow, that would be awesome to see her on HSN! I don’t even
know exactly when the next Craft Day is…..I’d better look it up! JollyJelly
I used to watch her on PBS. I was thinking of her, too, when
they showed that painting technique during the Crafting Event.
She really did nice work! JollyJelly
I love painting with Donna Dewberry technique.
I purchased all her books, kits when she was on qvc.
I noticed the first time that Sheena used her techniques
with a stamp kit.
I still paint and use Donna’s style love to paint rose’s and
other holiday items! I have painted them on cards now
since I’m home bound on reverse isolation so I don’t
have the ability to purchase wood, slate, or furniture!
I too would love to see more vendor’s and other types of
I told my friend that last time Sheena was on with that technique and we went down memory lane about Donna Dewberry on QVC and all the folk art type shelves etc had that technique of vines and flowers on them. Donna was very talented.
I remember Donna and loved her kits and tips. It really miss her since the focus the last several years has been card making and scrapbooking which doesn’t interest me. I wish HSN would’ bring in some new vendors and other types of crafting
I do! Not on HSN but back on QVC! I never bought her kits but I enjoyed watching her. I always liked their crafting days because it encompassed so many different things.
