TS – Fitbit Flex 2
Oh…just figured out that this new Fitbit is mainly relying on Blue Tooth to synchronize…and that you need Windows 10 (with a machine with Blue Tooth) or a smart device with higher levels of operating systems. If you just want to sync it to your Windows 7 or lower machine, you still need the Dongle, which is now NOT included…19.95 on their website. I actually thought about replacing my original Flex but this is getting too complicated…thinking that when my Flex dies, I’m done with the trackers.
My BP monitor, kitchen timer, and bedside clock works for me. I don’t understand the point of being so connected and monitored like a hospital patient with a life-threatening condition. My bracelets are prettier too.
I purchased this today. This will be my first Fitbit and I’m hoping that I will be able to figure out how to use it. If it helps me to get more fit t will be worth it.
I ordered 2 of these today-one for me and the other for DH. We had the first style that came out years ago but don’t have them anymore. We have been very unmotivated as of late and trying to get back to daily exercise so I look forward to receiving these-the other one we had was very motivating.
I placed an order for one, but while looking at the app on Google Play, I saw a lot of comments about “doesn’t work with my phone” and such. Turns out there’s a list of compatible phones at the Fitbit website, and my phone isn’t listed. I would have been fairly annoyed to have gotten it only to find out it wouldn’t work with my phone and then have to pay for return shipping! Seems like “check for phone compatibility” should be mentioned during presentation, but then I guess they might not sell several thousand. Thank goodness I found out (quite by accident) in time to cancel order. Guess my old “low tech” clip on pedometer will suffice.
I am looking for a tracker that does not have to be use by any apps. or computers 🙂
Simple and easy and works:)
Thank you for sharing 🙂
I have the Fitbit One which I purchased 5 months ago (not from HSN), for less than the price of the TS. The Fitbit One has a digital display which shows exact count of steps, flights of stairs climbed, distance, calories burned, and time. It can also track sleep, though I never use that feature. Furthermore, the bluetooth dongle is included, which I use with my Windows 7 laptop.
I can also sync it using my LG Ultimate 2 Tracfone, which by the way, was not listed in Fitbit’s list of compatible devices, but it works just fine.
I like the Fitbit One because it’s not made to be worn on the wrist. I already wear a regular wristwatch and don’t want to look like a crazy person wearing two watches. The Fitbit One can be clipped anywhere on your clothing or just put it in your pocket. I’ve heard of people losing theirs when having it clipped to clothing, so I always keep mine in my pocket.
