Today’s Special Towels – Lavender Is Dusty Rose!
I worked in the linens department of a major department store in the late 1980’s early 1990’s when dusty rose was an extremely popular color. These “lavender” towels might look a tiny bit on the purple side when you get them into very strong sunlight, but they are definitely lean more towards a dusty rose hue. A few people in the customer reviews agree with me. This is the second time I have been burned by a TS towel set. I don’t care if I pay more from now on, I’m waiting until the reviews come in!
Customer service says I have to pay the $10 shipping to send them back, it’s not considered a defect because it was the Buyer’s discretion to call it Lavender. Perhaps HSN needs to consider hiring buyers who are not color blind!
Hooray! Spoke to nice lady and she waived my shipping fee back! I wish they had ivory or cream towels, I would have bought them hands down.
I agree, the lavender color in the towel sets is way off and definitely not lavender. It is more of a dull putty brown color unless you hold it in bright light. Even then, it is more of a dusty dull color. I also ordered an aqua set and this color is beautiful. I wish I had ordered both sets in this color. I would return the lavender set but the remaining colors do not go with my decor. I highly recommend the towel set just not in the lavender color.
Oh, I feel for you. Take a picture and load it to the customer service thread. Also, add what the true Lavender color looks like and ask for a refund there. Best of luck.
Something similiar happened to me with a sheet purchase off Am___on.
I wanted a true lavender, and ordered the color pictured.
What I got a cotton candy pinkish color with hughes of purple.
I called the vendor, and told their CS that it was pink and I had washed them, and asked if they would accept the return. The CS rep pulled the color from the warehouse, looked at it and agreed. He said they should probably change the description.
I was so appreciative as I am not a ‘pink’ girl to that level.
It would be great if colors and sizes were somehow standardized.
But for sure, dusty pink and Lavendar are far apart and to me a refund is fair to request.
I could almost cry whenever I look at them. I can’t afford to send them back, and I’m supposed to suck it up and keep them because their buyers don’t know lavender from mauve or dusty rose? If you Google these 3 colors, there is a world of difference. Dusty rose and mauve are very muted and dusky, but lavender is light and happy and reminds you of Spring, which is what I was looking for. I have cream color towels that I got from HSN, and I love the combination of lavender and cream, so I was really excited to get them. Online it does look like true lavender, but when you see it up close it isn’t.
It is not very wise to call the color by the wrong name. Some people (me!) strongly like mauve/dusty rose, and don’t have much space for lavender. Some people need lavender. Now, those who would have loved it didn’t buy it; those who did buy it are unhappy because, seriously, what the heck? These twop colors are not the same! and neither is merlot the same as red!
?I ordered them for a friend and was not happy to see that they weren’t lavender but the recipient opened the box before I saw them. They certainly are a great quality towel and with 4 sets it’s a wonderful deal but they aren’t lavender. There’s a huge difference between lavender and dusty rose. You shouldn’t have to pay for the return shipping. Call back and ask for a supervisor if the next CS rep doesn’t help you. Good luck…please let us know what happens!
? U need to contact another agent, perhaps even ask for a supervisor. I just returned an item that was actually red when I ordered Merlot. The agent offered to waive my return shipping. What happened to u is not right!
