Purchased Joy’s Purse and RFID Clutch, However The Presentation Was Misleading
I purchased Joy’s TS purse and RFID clutch, however after reading these message boards I had to comment.
My husband and I both had our identities stolen in December. When we refinanced our home, the notary came to the house to sign the papers. He claims that he put them in a local locked Fed Ex. box the next day, however Fed Ex. never received the papers. Let’s not even start about the laziness of placing papers with social security numbers, birthdays, names and address, etc. in a box and not getting a receipt from Fed. Ex. He may even be the guilty party, sadly we will never know. We filed a police report and have wasted many, many hours dealing with the fallout.
It was misleading for Joy and the hosts to claim that your identity will be stolen if your credit card information is stolen. The detective assigned to our case told us that your social security number, birthday, and address are NOT on that magnetic strip. What Joy and the hosts should have stated is that credit card numbers can be stolen and used. That has happened to many of us, the credit card companies often contact us if there is a suspicious purchase. Then the credit cards will be closed, and new ones are issued. It is a hassle, especially if you have recurring charges associated with the stolen card. However, I assure you this is not the lengthy, stressful, often expensive and time consuming process that happens when your identity is stolen.
I am curious what everyone’s opinions will be on Joy’s purse and clutch. Hopefully the quality will match the hype!
All the best,
? GOOD HEAVENS!!!!! what an awful experience! you go to the market to get some food and this happens! i am glad that you are ok! ? thank you for sharing that experience, too. i hope that it all worked out for you.
Well, once again the truth has been revealed in the reviews for another product of Joy Mangano. The quality in no way matched the hype. I’m so sorry that so many women were as they put it “duped and sucked into the hype” of another so called leather product of Joy’s.
Some of the 1 star reviews are so negative but wonderfully written that they cracked me up. Just yesterday the 1 star reviews were leading by a mile now the 5 star and 1 star reviews are almost even. Read the reviews. My gut tells me that the 5 star reviews are fake. I could be wrong but I don’t think so.
Many, many businesses know that customers value reviews and that large online company that begins with an “A” has filed a lawsuit against a vender right now for paying people to write positive reviews for their product on “A’s” website.
This is big business and people are getting fed up with products being hyped in the presentations, buying them, getting it in their hands and realizing it is very low in quality.
Those of us who are old school customers know who and what product we can trust and who and what to stay away from. Businesses thrive on new customers, mostly those who have never made a purchase and those are the people that I truly feel sorry for.
Really ? Joy Mangano a party to misleading info or enhancing details just to get a sale . WOWSY I just cannot imagine …… no way ! :womansurprised: :smileyvery-happy:
I think they are also referring to other cards we carry that may have identificataion such as library cards that have your name, address, phone for sure.
I was in a grocery store once and turned around and someone took my entire grocery basket! I found it two aisles down without my purse. They found my purse thrown behind the meat counter. The manager had me check my checkbook to see whether they took a check. He told me not to go home without the police being notified. Many times people get your information and when you get home they are waiting for you to arrive. RFID is more important than just on a credit card so be careful.
I agree w u Diana, and I am sorry that happened to u.
Here it’s like…mislead, exaggerate, lie, what’s the difference?
I agree totally with what you are saying that these purses STOP identity theft. Identity theft as you clearly stated can come as easily as putting the wrong paper in your recycle can. I’ve heard plenty of stories of how many people do nothing but go through other people’s recycle bin for this reason. I have and use a RFID little purse I carry all the time but I know it is only protecting my credit cards. And credit card theft is probably one of the easier problems that can be solved and many times the credit card company won’t even make you pay for purchases you didn’t make. The type of theft you are talking about is a long and horrible road to travel and I pray I never have to take that road.
I think if your credit cards can be stolen and used it opens the possibility for there to be identity theft. You have to keep in mind how sophisticated the criminals are who did this kind of stuff are. One can be the cause of the other. They are not necessarily inclusive or exclusive of one another.
Credit card theft is a form of identity theft, though it’s handled much differently. I’m sorry this happened to you. I’ve read how it can take years to repair the damage done by full blown identity theft.
