Pro-Form X Bike
Anyone have thoughts on this? I’m somewhat interested.
Pro-Form is a great brand. Unless you are incapable of walking due to injury or illness, I believe walking on a treadmill or simply walking outdoors is the best way to exercise and it’s free.
If weight loss is your goal its much better to power walk than sitting and cycling on a stationary bike.
If you prefer to walk outside you also have the benefit of breathing fresh air.
I suffer from sciatica so walking outside or on a treadmill is definitely the way to go. Sitting makes it worse. Plus you will get a better uplifted rear-end from walking and better posture.:womanwink:
My husband & I love our X Bike. It’s so nice to hop on whenever I feel the urge to keep it moving…. It doesn’t take up much space, sometimes I hop on with my pj’s on. I love the computer that gives calorie count, mileage, etc. I think you will enjoy this smart bike.
All I can say is Pro-Form is a wonderful product/manufacturer. I believe you will be very happy.. Just stay dedicated and continue to be good to yourself. Go for it!
Anyone own this and also have a fitbit? I am wondering if it picks up the movement as a bike ride or if you have to manually enter it.
I had totally talked myself out of this thing – thinking I’d get it later since they’d probably have a bunch left over anyway – THEN I saw they were out of all colors but one and took the bait. Not my favorite color choice but I was going to get the boring grey anyway. The reviews overall look great – there were a few questionable ones but I am going to guess in this volume of bikes, there are bound to be some duds. For the price I am willing to take the risk I guess. I plan on forcing myself to bike when binge watching Game of Thrones or wahtever other Netflix series I watch next. Better than just sitting on the couch buying more stuff from HSN and QVC lol.
I was lookinf for exercise bike and wanted to know if this bike is right:)
Thank you for your post:)
I’ve been watching this current presentation and gosh, the thing looks REALLY stable…can’t see any wobble! Regarding having a mat…if you had hardwood/laminate flooring you might want to protect it with a mat but if it was on my “medium” pile carpet, it looks like it would be stable. The other thing about putting a vinyl mat down is that the dog sheds like crazy…it would be a hair magnet.
I bought it almost a year ago. Easy enough to put together and comfortable to use. Longer straps over the pedals would be nice.
Also, anyone know of a way to get today’s bike’s DVD’s separately? I looked on the pro form website and couldn’t find any DVD’s at all. Wish HSN would make them available to people who purchased earlier.
GIABELLA…I replied to your post in Health and Wellness…I use it right on the floor.
Thanks for the review, especially about the pedals. Do you have to purchase the mat or can it be used right on a rug or floor. Not sure if a mat stops it from moving or not. Thanks!
Hmmm…couple things I noticed. The graphic on HSN2 said “Easy Returns…peel, stick, send” (so it looks like it can go back to HSN for the 30 day return period). 90 day warranty on parts and labor…1 year warranty on frame (if they offer that extended warranty for registering your bike, I say jump on it…use any warranty if needed). The footprint looks great AND that it folds…the magnetic drive…the mag/tablet/phone rack…the weights (2 pounds can get to feel really heavy)…AND the reviews that have only 7, 1-star reviews out of 626 reviews (that seems like a big deal). Anyway, seems intriguing…I’m out with the dog twice per day but it’s mostly just standing while he sniffs…I could also get any outdoor bike here in SoCal but don’t want to deal with cars, noise, smog or heat (when it returns from our cold snap)…I certainly don’t need to lose weight (actually, I really would love to gain) but no matter, cardio is still important.
I was doubtful about the Pro-Form X Bike but I took the chance in November and purchased it from HSN for $149. I have the gray and I like it a lot. I needed a stationary bike with urgency due to much needed leg exercises to go with the physical therapy exercises I was doing with the therapist.
Hubby put it together for me and he was done in an hour. I remember reading about the peddles coming off so I made sure he tightened them extra tight. Every now and again we tighten them again just to be sure. Also don’t forget to register your bike on the Pro-Form website incase anything goes wrong with it and you get an extended warranty.
The seat is ok but if I sit on any bike seat for more than 15 minutes the booty begins to get uncomfortable. But I don’t let that stop me from riding… I just ride for 10 minutes at a time two to three times a day. I keep this bike in my bedroom across the room from my bed next to my desk in front of the TV.
I’m happy I took the chance.
I kinda want this but I read a lot of reviews on last years model. The Q sells this too btw- and the revews were very mixed. There seems to have been a problem with the pedals coming off. Then they couldn’t be fixed and on HSN the return was directly to the manufacturer – not HSN and it was compicated and expensive. I just don’t know
I was looking at this also. I need exercise equipment that folds up and can be easily stored in a closet or under the bed. However, like you, I am torn as to whether to purchase this item or not. On one hand I would love a motorized treadmill which would give me exactly what I need. Unfortunately, I just have not found one that can be folded. Price is right on this, but, I do not like sitting for long periods of time, even on a bike. I also like a bike that would give you some arm exercise as you hold on to the bars. Not sure if the weights that come with this are the answer or what you may say is the missing piece. I think I want something with more resistance.
