Mighty Jump does not work on newer cars that start with a button
I had the mighty jump and tried to use it with my 2013 prius. Push Start button to start car. I plugged it in the the lighter and waited. Nothing! I called the number on the back of the product and they told me it does not work with cars with a Start Button because you cannot turn on accesories like you can with the key. I had to toss it and use jumper cablees
Mighty Jump will not even charge a cell phone! Tell everyone you know not to buy this item. I purchased 5 as gifts and I nor the recipients are being allowed to return them (even for HSN credit). I am out over $200. I will no longer be an HSN customer.
I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. If there was anything I could help with i,would sure help. There are so many good people that do help. I pray someone finds you and helps. Sending prayers to both of you and your families.
Email me anytime everyone needs a friend.

I ordered 2 for my me and my kids and they did not work. My brother tried it and he told me to return all of them. It did not work and I have an older car. He said that the mighty jump was junk and to get something locally that actually works and is more powerful and better quality from an auto parts place. These small plastic gadgets did not start the car. I really thought it would work. I sent them both back.
The problem we had with our Mighty Jump is the slow charge. It’s a trickle charge and we had to wait. If you are stranded on the side of the road, 30 minutes seems like a long time. It still didn’t work and we called AAA. Tow truck driver laughed at us and said there is a misconception about charge time.
Thanks for the info… I have two cars… One a 2009 jeep cheroikie the other an old 98 Nissan altima…
One thing that stands in my mind? Remembering someone last year that said? If your battery is older it will not work… I did replace my Altima battery last year…. The Jeep maybe the original one. Not sure…
My husband drives the Jeep. Am a bit hesitant with knowing does little little jumper work on charging car battery?
Live in a small rural town and am always afraid if driving not near any service stations batter could fail..
As far as charging any electronis only have one cell phone. Am in the market now to getting another one,and also something wireless to use…
Am really out of the loop with so many different Electronic devices not sure which one would serve my purpose well..
To add my husband does not know how to use internet etc… Just have a desk one with keyboard and mouse…
We are both Seniors.. Hubby 80,i am 77….
So very frustrating with all the technology out there… I really feel out of it…
To also add…. My husband has several health issues… I was recently in the hospital sent there emergency from a Dr’s office… I found out i have A fib…Irregular heart beat… My husband also has that with other issues…
Sorry making this long….
Would like to hear from anyone with any info on this Mighty which i did order yesterday.
Also does anyone have Acorn Stair lift.. Do have a big flight of steps from my basement area to my mainliving area…
Shopping is my main issue…. I am wanting to getting something to help with that…
Live upstate in a small developent with not that many homes… No one really around to help…
We are planning to put our house up for sale.. My childern live long distance… At this point of life it is really scary…
Mike, are you saying that you threw the Mighty Jump away? I ain"t judging you, but, oh my stars. Be well, Luelue.
I have the round canister looking one.Haven’t needed to try it.Thankful for that so I don’t know if it works or not.Never read the instructions.Figured I would read them if I ever needed to use it.
The last version of the Mighty had some very scary reviews of people saying it damaged the engine and no one took any responsibility for the damage- (hsn or mighty jump)- I had one and needed it but was scared to use it on my vintage sports car.
I lost respect for this company and item.
Mike… thank you for posting this valuable information! Mighty Jump should post this in the ‘Details’ section of their advertising page! You do have 30-days to Return a product to HSN if it doesn’t suit you. No one should have to eat the cost of something they can’t use!
