HSN AND HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS
I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from HSN on a continual basis. I have had merchandise stolen off of my doorstep because HSN told me, guaranteed me that the delivery would be signed but that was last year. I lost about $3000 in the boxes and HSN couldn’t care less. now I order merchandise and I receive open items, open liquid like facial creams shampoos things like that that I I’m afraid to put on my body. it’s a great hassle because of the amount of purchases I make to send them back. if its even a day late I’ll call customer service and ask if if they’ll take it and they never call operate everything’s a hassle and it’s just a shame. I’ve never even received a coupon. in fact I shouldn’t say that, once in awhile I’ll receive a $10 off coupon – but it will never work. I don’t understand why they send it if they’re not going to honor it. I suppose this is going to be the last stance.if HSN cannot honor a good client, then they’re leaving me no other choice than to shop somewhere else.
I need to chime in here. I have been shopping at HSN for a few years now. They are the best shopping channel on air. Their customer service is superb as well as the reps that are here online helping us out. I have sent items back when I have not been satisfied. I once did not get a package and it has always worked out to my satisfaction. I love HSN! I do shop at the Q and Evine both. Evine is slow and many of the items I order, show pending forever. I get so frustrated, I end up canceling the item. I guess to each their own, we are all unique and we all have are likes and dislikes. I also think the prices at HSN can’t be beat.
My postman always asks me if I want him to leave packages if I am not home. He would take them to post office for me to pickup. I have never had anything stolen from my front door and I live in an apt complex. They have even left boxes at other neighbors door and they bring them to me. Guess I am lucky I have honest people around me.
The only problem I’ve ever had with customer service was when I ordered some clothing pieces. Probably about 6 items total. Some did not fit right on me and there were two items that were damaged. There was bright green tape on them where someone had marked the damaged areas, but they were sent out to me anyway. I sent them all back and shortly afterward received a letter from HSN customer service saying that they had noticed I had sent back quite a few items and asked that I not order unless I was sure I wanted the item. I was so ticked off that I didn’t order from HSN for a LONG time. I wanted the items but wasn’t going to keep something that was damaged or didn’t fit properly. Since you can’t try something on prior to purchase, the only way to see if something fits you is to order it and see. I’ve even heard the hosts say you can try things and if you don’t like them, you have 30 days to return them. Then I get a letter like that? I eventually got over it and haven’t had any further trouble with them. But, it took me a long time.
I have been happy with HSN customer service, so far.
Customer care 200%
I read recently that UPS wanted or has stopped delivery to home addresses for the most part which is why they co-op with USPS to make the delivery.
Wish more people knew to expect this and I think they would understand the delay they are experiencing.
I know I didn’t as it happened to me and when I check on where my items were it showed ‘handed to the man’…no man is here. What they meant was they (UPS) handed it to the USPS man. A day or two later my items were delivered.
All this was explained to me by my postlady. USPS gets blamed when they are just doing their job as usual and since USPS agreed to deliver packages for UPS it has to be processed into their system from USP system.
Re HSN, I have to say ‘KUDOS to HSN Customer Service’ as so far they have been great when I have an issue with packaging or items.
Re HSN sales hosts…PLEASE JUST GIVE US AN OCCASIONAL UPDATE BUT LET THE VENDOR SHOWCASE AND EXPLAIN THE ITEMS…PROS AND CONS!
Then we wouldn’t have to return items that do not do what the energetic showhost touts about how amazing they are when we later find we were duped…not a good thing to cultivate in my opinion and as a customer it is ultimately our opinion that counts as it determines where we choose to buy.
So please HSN…do a reality check and pull back on promises that cannot be kept on an item. I always tried to under promise and OVER DELIVER and I think it would work for HSN as well.
Wow, I wouldn’t put the blame on HSN when items arrive damaged or go missing from your front door. I’ve received a few banged up packages, retaped packages, damaged items, and packages not delivered over the years. Whenever any of these instances happen the first phone call I make is to HSN’s CS and the problem is always handled professionally and solved. They need to know what’s happening with the orders. When I’m missing items I always make a call to whoever was supposed to deliver them to my door. For a while there I had a mailman leaving my packages everywhere but at my front door. That problem was solved by the postmaster. Nothing has gone missing since. I’ve also been known not to check at the front door and packages have spent the night outdoors. No one has ever come by and taken them. So don’t give up on HSN yet. In my case they have always treated me fairly and I know they appreciate me as a customer. And I love shopping here.
So sorry to hear of your situation. If you have a neighbor you trust that is at home during the day, you could suggest having him/her sign for the delivery or perhaps have the order delivered to that address. I wouldn’t give up on HSN just yet.:catembarrassed:
I have been with HSN for two many years to count. I have never had to send anything back and to my husband’s dismay I do a lot of shopping. I have only had a problem with receiving my package twice in all these years. Both times it was UPS fault. Because now UPS has GPS it shows where the package was left. I called UPS and they contacted the driver and he was able to tell where it was. It was during the holidays and it was left up the street from me. We was able to recover. After packages leave the HSN warehouses they are not responsible for delivery. You can call HsSN and they will have the same info you have but they will do everything they can to help. For being a huge company when I had had questions and have contacted them I could not ask for any better customer service. I believe as in another post if you have things stolen it is a police matter. I would also consider some outside camera service to see what is going on. I hope things get straightened out for you
Wow too bad. i remember a time when i ordered some gold silverware from Colin Cowie and the box was delivered, but nothing in it!!! the box was empty and torn up. and i immediately called hsn and refunded me! i couldn’t believe this had happened. it had to have been someone in the ups dept. that stoled it. i was soooo upset i was crying. it was a special occasion for that silverware. haven’t ever had that happen before. the box must of been heavy and someone was curios? that’s all i can think of that happened. i was thankful for hsn. still am:)
waiting hope they do not pull this on me they will loose a customer and any one that will ask me about HSN they will not get that customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my 15 years of shopping with HSN there’s only been one time that I didn’t receive an item. It was during the holidays and UPS tracking showed that it had been left on my porch. A UPS supervisor came out with the delivery man to investigate. The delivery man said he remembered leaving it on my porch and I believed him. In no way was this HSN’s fault and CS was wonderful. It was UPS who insisted upon my signing for future packages for a month only and had nothing to do with HSN.
susanj001, I can certainly understand your frustration with not receiving your packages or in having to deal with open boxes but once the packages leave HSN’s warehouse and they are tracked to your doorstep, the problem lies with the carrier(s) or maybe there’s a problem in your neighborhood. Is there another address where your packages could be delivered? A year is an awfully long time to expect signature delivery for the shipping fees paid.
Persistant stolen packages from your doorstep is a police matter . I would call the police if things were stolen off my porch .
If you paid for signature delivery then after calling the police about the theft talk to the carrier -USPS or UPS.
Either way,if theft is not reported to the law , the thievery problem will get worse . Always report crime in the neighborhood or crime will take over.
If folks steal from me , I want them to pay . I do not blame the folks that sold it to me .
I’m sorry to hear about your problems with stolen packages. You need to have them sent to a post office box. I used to do that and it worked fine. The few items that can’t be shipped to PO boxes, have sent to work or to a trusted relative that is home when deliveries are made.
I have found HSN customer service to be EXCELLENT! :cathappy: They really do care and will do what they can to help out. If you receive items that don’t meet your expectations, keep calm and call them.
I do agree that HSN is stingy with their coupons. Yes, it does feel hurtful to log on to the forum and read about other customers receiving coupons:catsad:. I am a customer who spends thousands and never gets a coupon (unless it is a multi-use coupon that a fellow shopper posts). My husband has his own account and HE does get coupons and I can’t use them….how about that!:catfrustrated:
Good luck to you! I hope your HSN experience improves!
When my daughter lived in NYC in a six floor walkup, she always had her online purchases sent to her job. (Her boss didn’t mind0. she once ordered an expensive set of pots from the Q and took two to three pieces home on the subway for a few days until she got to the last piee. If any of her purchases were stolen or tampered with she knew that it wasn’t the shopping channel’s fault if she had them sent to her home.
