FLEX PAY IS PHONY!!!
HSN Flex Pay is phony. Do not use unless you want a hold on your credit card for the full amount. I had three items with two flex pays each of $5.81 with shipping and tax my total order was $48.34. HSN put a hold on my credit card for $21.08, $21.08 and $21.09. So I am having held more than the total of all three items. Then customer service tells me its a bank thing. So I called the bank and they said HSN ran the charges through for the higher amounts. What is the sense of having flex pay if you are actually going to hold more than the total of the items. Ridiculous!!!! How many people do not watch this as close as I do and maybe get ripped off by HSN.
HSN fixed the issue!!!! The refunded me the overages. Got no where with calling customer service so I hope posting here helped.
Thanks everybody for the help.
HSN is a business and, like all businesses, has to abide by rules. I am sure they aren’t out to gouge you on your FlexPay. I worded for this company about then years ago, and since then have purchased many things on FlexPay to better afford an item. I never had all the payments authorized at once…Also an authorization is a temporary hol on your card which will show up as pending. A hard charge is just that, the card has been charged. A company this large, i am sure is not trying to gouge you on purpose. That being said, I went to xxxxxxxxx to pay of some Value Pays on the few things I ordered from them, I pay ahead of the due date. There was something up with the website; instead of authorizing 2 payments for about fifteen dollars, my card was authorize for five. Instead of authorizing my card for one payment of aroun ten dollars, my card authorized for three. I called and they became angry with me and told me they did not see it from their side. I told them I would have the bank call them. Finally I talked to a woman who said the website was doing funky things because it was being updated. I had to wait 8 days for eighty dollars in authorizatins to be released from my card. With HSN, I have never had a problem with FlexPay. I can even pay my payments before they are due and don’t get gouged like Evine does. It had to be a glitch. No reputable company will try to ‘steal your money.’ I thank HSN for FlexPay.

This post is another scam to deter people! NEW FRIEND my foot.
And the name FLEXPAYPHONY pleeeeeease! It’s so obvious!
HSN has some bizarre practices. For example they oftentimes charge your card in the amount of full price instead of whatever discounted price was; sometimes they fix it later, sometimes they forget.
I think they really should not put holds on amounts larger than what the customer is supposed to pay.
I really don’t think HSN is in the habit of ripping off people. So far, all the many years I’ve been shopping with them, I have had no problems with flex pay, and I do check my purchases with a fine tooth comb. Also, anytime I’ve called Customer Service, they were a great help.
It does sound like you have a real mess on your hands, but I’m sure they will straighten it out in due time.
Someone made a mistake and authorized it for the wrong amount. I understand. I’m sorry. That doesn’t usually happen when I shop at HSN. Does this happen every time u shop? It has happened to me at other places, and my acct couldn’t show that it was voided, so I just made sure to check that it disappeared the next day.
U mean it was authorized? What’s wrong w that? It isn’t actually deducted. Does a hold mean u can’t use ur card bc u don’t have enough credit?
The tempory hold (authorized) is the way almost all online business is conducted .
The actual amount charged will be when item is shipped .
