Elite Pressure Cooker Question(s)
Has anyone ever cooked beans in it? I was wondering if it did a good job on old tough beans. I bought beans in bulk and they are pretty tough to cook. I also would use it for a turkey breast. Does it brown it? Thanks for any replies. 🙂
OH yeah, if anyone knows this, I once heard that you have to fill it at least half full or maybe I heard 3/4’s full. I’m not quite sure. anyway is this true? Could you cook a small amount of beans or food, like 1 quart of in the 8 qt pressure cooker? Thanks.
I have the older model but just ordered this, too. I cook beans, stews, roasts, vegetables. The flavor is amazing. I like the crock pot option, too! You will love it. It is quick, simple, and yummy!
Yes you can cook small amounts. I like to cook more and freeze dinners for my husband and I. It is also nice to have dinners already cooked when my grandchildren want to come over. Soups, stews. chillie and etc. freeze well. Experiment and have fun with the pressure cooker.
I own the older 8 qt. pressure cooker and I love it. I use it a lot. I have a older dog that I make his dog food and it has saved me hours making his food. His food is 8 cups chicken, 4 cups rice and 4 cups vegetales. I take chicken out of the freeqer and cook 7 in just a few minutes. I take the chicken out and while I am cutting the chicken in pieces the rice and vegetables are cooking. It takes longer to package it than it does to cook it. I cook a lot of things for us as well. Ever thing cooks faster. I like to cook dried beans the time that it says and then let it set on keep warm for a few hours. Roast and veggies are wonderful and fast. I make up things as I go. My favorite part is if I do not set something out of the freezer for dinner I can take something out of the freezer and stil have a nice dinner.for mh family.Experiment and have fun.
I just bought the Elite Pressure Cooker today, so of course, I haven’t used it yet. However, I bought it mainly for cooking turkey breasts and dried beans. I’m sure I will use it for other foods once I get the instructions and the recipe book. I also ordered the other recipe book the hosts recommended.
About cooking small amounts in the cooker, it seems that I remember the the host saying that you could cook small amounts or large amounts in it. I guess I will learn more once I get it.
I am not sure if I am posting in the right place…forgive me if I posted wrong.
My question is can you steam can with this pressure cooker. I ordered it because I didn’t want the cinnamon to run out. But, I am wondering if the pressure gets high enough for canning vegetables?
