why do you wear makeup
I have often wondered why women wear make up, What is your reason?
I love reading all these comments. I wear makeup, because I look younger with it on. As others stated foundation covers uneven skin tone and all the skin and makeup products reduce imperfections in your skin and even soften any wrinkles and large pores. My eyebrows and lashes are so blonde without eyebrow pencil or powder, and mascara you would not see them. The mascara products now can make you look like you have false eyelashes. Contouring to slim my face and nose, blush and lipstick bring color to a very fair face. Highlighter on your the top of cheekbones brings beautiful light to an older face (58). I also enjoy prepping before I go out, although I can do a 5 minute full face in a rush. I never spend more than 15 minutes, as I have appling a full face down to an art. I do like to choose my makeup colors to coordinate with my outfits, not matchy matchy but coordinate. I am a makeup junky and when I feel blue I buy new makeup. There are so many wonderful makeup and skin products out now for all types of skin color or skin issues, there is something for everybody.:womanvery-happy::womanvery-happy:
Over the years I realized the less make-up I wear the better
I look.So now I keep it minimal.
No more mascara…
blush and lipstick!
Can’t stand the phoney hair and tons of make-up
women tend to wear.
Just be your self..All that work for what???
Who are you trying to impress?Waste of time IMHO.
Please quit wearing wigs if you don’t have to.
Can spot them right away.
TEDURCHOP WE HAVE FRIENDS BORN AND RAISED IN NEW ORLEANS IS THAT WHERE YOUR FROM . DO YOU HAVE THAT GREAT ACCENT . I LOVE IT .
I wear makeup to even out my skin tone, give me some color in the winter and to cover up the little spots that pop up from time to time. I use very little makeup just foundation and blush. On special occaisions I use eye makeup but it tends to irritate my eyes. Yes I do throw out nearly full tubes of mascara all of the time.
On weekends I hardly ever use makeup. I usually just exfoliate and use moisturizers to give my skin a break.
I started wearing makeup in high school to cover acne and to ‘look prettier.’ As a young adult I wore much too much. Then, the older I became, the less makeup I wore. Now I don’t wear any makeup. I think, and I’m told that I look the same or better without it. Now I rely on my skin that is in good condition, somewhat youthful body shape, becoming hairstyles and clothing. I think that many women look better without makeup.
* * * I do use/ wear tinted lip chapstick.
For several years, I was my Dad’s primary caregiver. Because of his illness, I rarely took the time to apply makeup. The first time my three year old granddaughter saw me wearing makeup, she told me that I had a brand new face and that I ”wooked” so much better! Now, I always wear makeup. :womanlol:
I love make up! It enhances what I already have and hides what I don’t like! Since I was not blessed with perfect skin I use foundation to make it seem perfect. Everyone needs a little blush, lipgloss and mascara to get the day going. Rare is the woman who doesn’t look better with the basics on.:womanhappy:
HI PRETTY LADIES I WEAR MAKE UP AND DO ALOT OF SKIN CARE . MY EYES ARE GREEN AND I HAVE FAIR SKIN AND VERY BLONDE EYEBROWS SO I LOOK BETTER WITH BROWS AND I DO USE TAN TOWELS ALOT . SHEBA I LOVE YOUR EYES AND TREKKY YOU ARE VERY PRETTY . I MOSTLY DO MY EYES AND CREAMY LIP LINERS AND CREAMY BLUSH AND A LOT OF EXFOILATING.
I LOVE , LOVE , LOVE  makeup. In my Master bath I have a drawer “FULL” of makeup and continue to add to it. There are two neighborhood girls that I watched grow up to be young women (now they drive…WHEW! I feel old…lol) and when they come visit the first thing they do is to go in my Master bath and do some prepping. My wonderful husband gave me a sensor mirror. It’s so cool! When you sit in front of it the mirror lights up and when you walk away it shuts down. Love it! But; that mirror will show all wrinkles, zits, etc…..lol. I am a very dark brunette hair color, olive complexion (I’m cajun french), my eyes are the darkest brown (almost looks black…lol). Love to wear dark brown eye shadow to enhance my eye color, foundation, blush, and “ALWAYS WEAR RED LIPSTICK” (sometimes in summer I wear a pink shade). When I was in my 40’s I started experiencing adult acne….CRAZY! The acne slightly marked my complexion so makeup evens it out. I feel pretty w/it on. To my opinion….if you like it ….do it!
Makeup is the best. I prefer a natural look. Its fun and enhances your features. For those years when i had break outs, it helped get me through the day. As i get older, it helps the eyes pop.
Debinaz53, do you like make-up?
My reason the eyes the window to the soul! I love my eye makeup!
short answer ~ to look more attractive!
long answer in a nut shell…. most of us have been programmed to believe that we need to look more attractive
my mom would give me grief if I did not “at least try”-
I did rebel for many many years and did not wear a stitch but now I have fun w/ it as I do w/ fashion. I see it more as art and letting my creative juices play w/ different color waves in both my clothing and make-up choices.
I must admit I’m a slave to mascara. Like Ruby, I have great eyes and mascara makes them pop.
I just love ‘playing make up’ 🙂 …….
Little foundation to even out skin…little blush because I have a fair
complexion, little mauve/pinky lipstick … but, my favorite is eye make up  I was blessed
with really nice eyes and I love to bring out their hazel changing color !
A little liner really makes them POP :womanwink:
And I, of course, always finish with perfume……..
I don’t wear very much makeup, a little blush, a little lip gloss, that’s about it. I find that the older I get the less I wear. Why do I wear it? It makes me feel better about myself, I think it makes me look a little better too.:smileyhappy:
LOL…I often wonder why women don’t wear makeup. I love makeup. Makeup enhances your features. I have very small eyelashes, so mascara brings my lashes to life. Since my lashes are small and light, I also use liner. Without the liner, I look like Tilda Swinton. Not that that’s a bad thing, but my eyes are big, so big bare eyes can look scary…ha ha! I’ve never been a fan of liquid foundation, so I’m a big bare minerals fan. I like a polished even tone on my skin. Without the bare minerals, my face is shiny, so I prefer a matte look to my face.
On weekends, I tend to wear very little makeup unless I’m going out. But I wear makeup everyday to work.
