Welcome to My Over The Hill Skin ~ Help if you have a moment, thank you Regarding Makeup
The over 50 facial skin has me down and out depressed, I have tried it all probably like most, in search of my face makeup, fair, pores, I am right now in between makeups, and as hubby says looking for the Fountain of Youth, wow, never realized 50 would smack me around like this, lol. I have the top of line to sephora, macys, hsn, nordstroms, q, etc in search for a makeup that is not heavy. I always enjoyed Adrienes Caviar over 40 line, yet theres not much to pick from. I was going to order Ready To Wear Skin Perfection Serum Foundation, tonight in fair. At the moment I have wandered out to It cc cream, it’s fine, and I have the whole line, I do like using their cover up for rosacea, been using it as makeup, and its a nice concealer. I have every serum, cream, lotion, capsules, and rotate them, while using Kelly west Microdermabrasion 3 x week, I noticed it’s cleaned up my pores, yet now I see a 3 mini brown spots, so I pour on the JM argan oil, vitamin c capsules, 5 essential cream, … sorry for boring you, if you don’t mine sharing your best makeup coverage without having a ton of concealers, primers and different hues of concealers under neath, it’s too thick and I want something fresh looking, and not dripping during the hot days on the Jersey shore. I don’t want to return makeup again, I had to return Lancome. Thank You my Dear Friends who are nice enough to share…thank you so very much in advance for helping, most appreciated, from my heart :womanhappy: thank you again xoxox ToffeeDudexoxox
After turning 50, I realized my skin was changing and went on a quest to find the perfect makeup.
I don’t like the too heavy look, but need something with decent coverage. I have 2 favorites that I equally love. It Celebration Foundation with the appropriate brush makes my face feel wonderful. I tried without the brush and didn’t like it. You need the proper tools. I also love Philosophy’s Miracle Worker Foundation. Neither make me feel like my face will slide off in the heat, but give beautiful coverage. Unfortunately, neither are sold on HSN. After cleaning out my makeup drawer, I f had to chuckle because I am not loyal to one particular brand. I have something from just about every line. Also, I use Smashbox’s Foundation Primer. It gives a nice base to start with and enhances your foundation for a smooth finish.
skinn has alot of masks to reduce pores over on EVINE. they work very well I hope this will help .Please have a great day.
I always say go with dermablend. You get full natural coverage and it is waterproof. The only foundation that stays on until you decide its time to remove it. You apply just a bit and it covers ..you don’t need alot. Then you apply a setting powder. It was my savior for 20 years or more. You do have to use the remover. It usually comes in a kit with everything. It’s hot and humid in Florida and it works here. I ran out and anything I put on like my CC cream sweats off fast. I make sure it dries well for the SPF but not sure how much protection I am getting. Probably will have to get a separate facial SPF. The day creams with SPF I find are irritating and sweat off. I need something waterproof. On a hunt. I think Neutrogena makes a facial waterproof SPF. It’s annoying because they are all so irritating! Soon I will be getting my dermablend because its great for legs too. It covers spider veins. I don’t worry about it rubbing off from my face or legs. Sally Hansen makes a fabulous leg cover up spray too that I use as well. I wish tan towels didn’t leave me blotchy.
I would recommend Estee Lauder DoubleWear liquid foundation. This foundation covers every imperfection on my face broken caps. and brown spots. It’s not cakey very creamy I don’t have to use a primer under it, I don’t have to use powder over it and I don’t have to us a concealer. As far as facial products I really haven’t found any that actually does what they say they will do.
Hi ToffeeDude! I’m 60 and know exactly what you’re talking about. I too have tried many many products. I have fine wrinkles, a slightly oily T-zone but dry everywhere else so therefore must
put on a moisturizer quickly after I wash my face just to feel comfortable. I have a brown spot
on my left temple and right cheek and larger pores at the T-zone. The following products is
whats working for me right now; Revelations 3pc set #344-148. It cleans well, the brush on
treatment mask gives my skin a glow and the moisturizer is light, non-greasy which is excellent
for under foundation. I use RTW serum foundation in medium #092-462. The foundation gives
good coverage (I don’t need an additiional coverage for the brown spots) yet the foundation is
light weight. I use Genefique eye cream #358-396 right now but have found multiple eye creams
here that are good ie Dr. Graf’s collagen eye cream, Nyakio eye cream and SSC eye cream. When
I’m just out gardening my regime is SSC vit C serum and their day cream that has SPF. Also I
use the Clairsonic mia twice a day which seems to really make a difference ie cleaner smoother
looking skin, smaller pores. I hope this helps.
Ihave very fair skin and i have been using skinn day and night cleansers and suzanne somers organic tanning lotion when i want some color .Skinn products has beauty flash age reset spot treatment and a weekend treatment when to give a boost to your skinn..
TD, have you tried Ready To Wear Bronzing Powder 161-730 with complexion correctors? Like you I am either by the pool or at the beach everyday from May through the end of September. During the summer I only wear eye makeup, a little bronzer and blush, no foundation as I tan easily. I also like Ready To Wear Complexion Enhancer 161-733 which evens out the skin tone and is warmer than the Couture Powder. If you you are looking for more coverage you might look at 266-307 M. Asam magic finish if you have a medium skin tone. It works for fair and medium skin tones but is a little too light for me. Magic Finish feels like you have nothing on your skin and lasts all day.
I am slightly under 50, and Ready to Wear is my most favorite product. I use their foundation followed by their powder.
I had some CC cream by possibly Lorac, but it as a strange thing. It did not really want to stay on my face. Just would not stick to it. Maybe it is because of the moisturizer I always use under the foundation…. But I even tried without and it did not work. i did like Shiseido’s BB cream.
Unfortunately, my eye sight has gone down quite noticeably so who knows, maybe the perfection I see in the mirror is simply due to eye sight failure…
Hi ToffeeDude I can surely see what you are going through in search of a light coverage foundation. I too have purchased all of the serums, creams, etc just don’t forget your sun screen as the sun can cause the brown spots. I just thoroughly cleanse my face, love the Skinn cleansers, exfoliate 3x a week, and use SSC A Defiance and I use Vitamin C on my face. My skin is smooth and clear. Sorry Lancome didn’t work for you I just use a little of the Lancome medium foundation to even my skin tone and it dosen’t transfer. My sister swears by Estee Lauder foundation. When it is really warm out I use a CC as it blends well and is light, a little mascara, lipstick, or gloss. Perhaps a really good professional facial and a makeover could provide the look you wish to acheive, and this will do wonders for spirits as well, been there. Wising you well!
