As a person that sews and works with fabric often…these shouldn’t be bleeding. Not this fabric. Something is not good with the dye or the fabric. The fabric clearly did not take the dye. I hope you didn’t invest too much money in the suit. If you can, and have time, return it. Get another one. This is obviously a manufacturer’s defect. Nothing you are going to do is going to stop the bleeding of the dye. Nylon and spandex are very difficult to work with and to get the dye to take. The fact that it’s bleeding the dye means something went wrong. Don’t waste any more of your time on this suit.
purple container is from the 2nd soaking (swim bottoms only)
clear container is from the 1st soaking (swim bottoms only)
the 2 small containers have water from the 2 large containers just to show the color side by side & in clear containers,
The lightest color is from the 1st time – darker color is from the 2nd time.
Eek! That’s no good! Don’t they make some sort of "color catcher" cloth things you can add to your wash water now that is supposed to catch up the extra bleeding/dyes? Hmmm…you have me curious now. Off to research! Maybe those would work on my darn DG jeans as well! LOL.
I don’t suppose that this would work for your fabric but many (many!) years ago, I used to "set" color in T’s and hoodies by letting them soak in water and salt. How and why that worked is beyond me but it seemed to work on items that would normally have bled.
