Tanning towels and skincare products
I use the Serious Skincare line and I’m confused when to use my Tanning Towels. Any ideas?
I use and love tan towels. I apply weekly and I get just a light natural tan when combined with any sun I get is perfect. I also use this on my face and it’s great. I apply in the morining after showering and applying serums and makeup and it works great on my face and lasts as long as it does on the rest of my body.
I don’t use tanners on my face either. They just never seem to last on my face, so I tan my body, but use a bronzer on my face.
I tried tan towels and turn orange. Even after a few times. Also it made my knees darker and they looked dirty. Much the same as the lady helping with the demonstration. Her knees looked dirty. I used a few different kinds but the best was a Jergans gradual tanner moisturizer. But I didn’t like the smell too much or texture of my skin. When you stop using it for a few days it got all streaky. Then I read that the chemicals in self tanners are dangerous so I don’t tan. There’s nice tinted moisturizing lotions that wash off that add a glow and shimmer. But I am hesitant about self tanners. I think a little sun or tanning bed once in a while might be better if you must have a tan instead of constant applying chemicals all over. When I lived in 6 months of light and 6 of darkness the doctor recommended a few minutes a few times a week in the winter for seasonal blues. I only did 3-5 min. twice a week and was golden. I loved it because it made me feel great. Summer I use an SPF and get a bit of color. Not often though because freckled people who are blonde have the highest rate of skin cancer. I had a great friend who died of skin cancer at 30. So I don’t much care about being too white. They removed a bunch of spots that were suspicious on my back a few years ago and my last visit I was ok. Probably from staying out of the sun and never exposing my face, wearing SPF all year and a hat outside for activities.
I agree with BB – bronzer on face rather than tan towels.
I personally can’t use the tan towels then turn me orange, seems to be my own skin chemical reaction to them. I use St. Tropez form instead and I love it.
When you are using Tan Towels or any other self tanner on your face I would recommend applying as early in the evening as possible if you want to use a nighttime skincare routine. The reason being that Tan Towels, like other self tanners, contain DHA which is what causes your skin to "tan". Once DHA comes in contact with water it becomes inactive and stops the tanning process. All SSC products have water as the first or second ingredient so you want to apply your tan towels when you have a few hours for the product to activate.
Sounds like a good idea! Thank you!
I never use self tanner on my face. The Serious SkinCare line defeats the purpose as it lightens corrects and brightens.
Can you use a bronzing powder ?
I do use the TAN TOWELS everywhere else with great luck. :manhappy:
I am happy with pretty much all of the HSN jewelry I have purchased over the years…I think I’ve only ever sent one piece back….and I regretted it immediately! It was a Joan Boyce ring that was wonderfully beautiful, but was pretty big and tall on my finger. I really didn’t have $$$ to throw around at that time, and thought it was too big & I would not really wear it, so I sent it back. :womansad:
I have been scouring ebay for it ever since…live & learn!
There are several brands I LOVE but there are several brands I stay away from. I DO read the reviews and base a lot of my choices on what they say. And there are several brands that are gone now that I miss. But I do love HSN jewelry. My Credit Card proves it! LOL
I agree! Well, maybe not ALL – but a lot a lot is awesome!
