Suggestions for my son re: light acne scarring
I need some suggestions for my adult son. He has some light scarring from acne. Thanks in advance!
Take him to an esthetician where they can fully analyze the skin. Without seeing more damage could be done. I’m assuming they would try salycilic peels and an at home chemical exfoliating cream. Just my 2 cents. Peels work really well and fairly quick.
derma e scar gel
and /or vit. e oil neat
? Yes, I understand that he no longer has acne and that u r looking for a scar treatment. That’s y I asked what kind of scarring…pigmented or indented? They require different treatments, but I’ll just throw some stuff out there…AHAs (glycolic, lactic, citric, malic), BHAs (salicylic), azelaic, vitamin C, kojic acid, arbutin, retinol, microdermabrasion, laser treatments…
Your best bet is dermatology Dept, where a good topical can be prescribed.
Nothing OTC worked for my son who is a teenager.
Having said that, for me, Sig club A meltdowns for a facial cleanser and Philosophy Microdelivery vitamin c peel.
You might also consider cocoa butter, and something I am trying is Aloe Vera Juice/Gel. Both drink it and apply topically.
If nothing else, it is certianly making my skin feel soft and smooth! But I may be imagining it, but it seems to be helping, and seems to help prevent new zits!
Pigmentation or indentations ?
There are several scar treatments on the market. I have been using a skin treatment oil sold in CVS drugstore with great success. It is non-greasy and a little goes a long way and is affordable to. I wish him good luck!:womanhappy:
