SSC BEFORE & AFTERS…SERIOUSLY
If anyone’s watching the Before & Afters on Serious Skin Care’s TS
tell me I’m seeing things!
Short of taking a measuring tape to my TV screen,
which actually isn’t even needed, the side by side pictures are
SO OBVIOUSLY different sizes by over an inch on my screen!
The after is so much wider it’s no wonder it looks miraculously improved.
What do we do in the mirror when we want to see a tightened face?
We pull and stretch it up and out.
If you took a picture of yourself and then widened it with some kind
of Photoshop like editing your skin would appear taut and firm right?
I’m no mathematician but to the naked eye isn’t it obvious that’s
what’s happening on my screen?
Please tell me I’m crazy ’cause I’m really disturbed with what I’m seeing!
It isn’t just SSC. It’s just about ALL products I have seen.
I realize you can’t exactly duplicate ANY particular image. I would think you could replicate lighting, and yet it often looks different.
If I perceive before & after to be manipulated, I won’t buy the product. They also need MORE pictures to convince me.
Dr. Graf makes a point to say “medical grade camera,” yet hers look different too.
If there are only 1 or 2, I disregard them too.
Before and Afters are sounding like a new HSN game called Spot the Differences. I’ve always been fascinated by those differences – hair a slightly different color, earrings sparklier, eyes brighter. I must admit I hadn’t noticed the stretch though! :womanhappy:
The size is different, the lighting is different, often they are holding their head at a different angle and the backdrop is a different color. Sometimes they were a different color shirt and sometimes they’ve added or changed the shades of makeup.
All part of the sales pitch for ANY line.
The lighting is always different also…
Yes, I’ve noticed this for years. It’s done on every tv retail show. It’s pathetic how many females fall for this ploy, like the desperate female who falls for the bad pick up line flung at her in a bar. She knows it’s a lie; she just has all of this false hope. It’s ridiculous.
I’m sure the networks know that the photos have been doctored in some way. I don’t know why the networks, HSN, qvc, etc., would allow it. If they do know (I can’t see how they don’t at all know), they’re actually co-conspirators. It’s a deceptive practice.
Yes I thoroughly agree with all of you on this topic. What I have noticed quite often is the before and after shots is: The after shot seems to have a brighter light on the person and yes, the photo is enlarged. Ya’ll should hear me say (out loud to myself…. talking to myself)….”FOR REAL?” Dr. Oz said in one of his episodes…..”If you have wrinkles, you have wrinkles. You can not get reed of wrinkles my some market miracle cream…only an injection of Botox, Juverderm or a collagen/filler of some magnitude.)” That does make since.
I didn’t mean to bash SSC.
I’ve noticed this on MANY other HSN skin care lines that show before & afters.
I used SSC because it was a TS so they would be showing B&A’s all day.
I only shop HSN so I can’t comment on other networks.
I was just so alarmed but it seems most of are aware of this.
For those who aren’t and may now be deterred from SSC please make
your own judgements on the products and not just what I observed.
I have to be very careful what I put on my skin:)
I have very sensitive skin:)
Thank you for sharing:)
Peace and love:)
Yes. I think all companies for all products that show before and afters alter them in some way to “fool” us. The sad part of it is that it makes people wonder why they feel thaey have to do that? If the product does what they claim, why not just say it and let the customer be thrilled with the results? Customers love to tell others how great something is. Let our chatter matter! lol
It’s that way on All networks and for practically All brands.
It is so obvious. Either one of the photos is ENLARGED or one is shrunken up like a raisin. I assume the Before and after are for comedic purposes, so I laugh and go on with what I doing.
I don’t pay attention to the before and after’s on any skin product. It has no bearing whether it will work for my particular skin type. On all of these products (not just SSC) I see differences in lighting and poses; some I squint at trying to see the improvements the host is oohing and aahing about lol. All I know is SSC is working for me. I will continue to buy it!
No, you are not seeing things!!! It’s not the first time and not just with SSC!!!! Happens quite frequently…… Personally, I don’t think before and after pics should not be shown, because, as everyone knows, they can be altered!!!!! Also, before anyone starts bashing, I did not say SSC does not produce results, but everyone is different…. I do like some products, but I do not go by the before and afters!!!!
