Signature Club A by Adrienne 5 Essentials Creme with Plant Stem Cell
Everytime in the A.M. after applying my moisturizer, I have problems applying my foundation. It’s like the moisturizer leaves a barrier on the surface of the skin that when I apply my foundation, it causes that barrier to flake off. After applying the foundation, I have to take a tissue and gently wipe over the entire face to try to remove all these flakes.
I usually wait a few minutes to let the moisturizer penetrate my skin before I apply my foundation and I usually use a makeup sponge. Maybe this is where my problem begins?
Does anyone else have this problem? I really like the cream, but don’t like the effect it has on my makeup.
Welcome to the forums sanB! I haven’t ever had any problems using the 5 Essentials cream. For me it absorbs in quickly. Have you had this problem using other creams?
Sanb, I have been using this product for the last few months and am a foundation wearer.
I do wait for it to absorb before adding my next layer of foundation, just as you mentioned, and even apply with a sponge and have not had any flaking ever. I also have sensitive skin.
Maybe its the product and your particular skin combo? Maybe a lighter moisturizer would work better?
I’ve had the same happen with Adrienne’s 5 Essential Creme and with other brands. Not sure of your routine, but if it starts to flake or roll off my face, it might be time to do a peel or exfoliate. I don’t always have the time to do weekly peels, but the one I like is Philosophy Microdelivery Peel. I also use Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash every other day. If I am consistent, I don’t get flakes when I apply my foundation. I have sensitive skin and haven’t had any problems with the peel or exfoliation, and no more flakes. I hope this helps.
Hello ?, I’ve not personally used this product but I can tell you what I’ve found in the past with other products…. I would recommend trying to use a thinner layer of the cream. Sometimes face products and primers will peel and roll if too much is used. Also you may want to see if the main ingrediants between the cream and the foundation are the same; oil based vs water based. ? also had a great suggestion! You may just need to exfoliate with a peel or or microderm treatment. 🙂
I use Signature Club A Ounce of Gold spf 30 every day, and have for many years. The 5 Essentials wasn’t hydrating enough for my super dry skin! Anyway, I apply a thin layer, wait a minute or 2, then a tiny amount of Laura Geller Spackle face primer. I wait a good 4 or 5 minutes to let it absorb. Then my foundation using the Beauty Blender sponge, or my fingers. If I flake, like the other posters said, I need to exfoliate. In the winter, at least once a week using a chemical peel, like SSC glycolic pads or someone else’s from HSN! I like doing it before my morning routine. My makeup goes on so much better, and no flakes.
Did you get the TS from about a month ago? I did. I had not tried these items before and found that the Retinol Wrinkle Penetrating capsules are very strong for my skin.
I realized that they were not only breaking me out on my neck, but making me itch and peeling/flaking around 1 eye and around my nose.
I was not willing to give up on these products so now I am using the capsules every 3-4 days and the problems do seem to be going away.
I have not had the peeling/flaking problem after putting my makeup on.
And yes I agree that I might need to exfoliate a little more often lol.
Hope this helps you.
