Prai Throat cream did I get a defective one
Even if I exfoliate, apply small amount I always get the same result it seems not to absorb and rather roll off my neck like the old rubber cement used to just roll off or Ice Elements exfoliator used to work getting rid of dead skin..
Wondering if my jar is defective?? Probably past the 30 days.. 🙁
No you did not get a defective product. I had the same issue with the creams I buy and the creams I make. I do work with a dermatologist. I asked her. Why does my serum and creams seem to pill and roll off as I massage my cream in? She said to much product. Your skin can only absorb so much. The rest it rejects. She said think of an overloaded sponge when you pick it up. Your skin is the sponge the water is the product. When you pick up an overloaded sponge it drips those are the pills. She advised me to get the Oxysonic facial brush. To get me to drive in the product and wash away the excess. No more pilling and it has gotten me to use less product. Good thing my machine grew legs and walked away. I lent it out. Been a bit and I am pilling again whoops old habits die hard. I miss that machine big time. So I got another one. The issue was not the creams or serums I was just using to much of a good thing. But boy the products from HSN really took off with that machine. My forehead and SCA products I feel in love with her products all over again. I do want to try the prai cream I adore the neck serum. But I do have a habit of going on product overload.
If the pilling is dead skin, Prai should turn this into a neck peel instead of a neck cream.
Speaking of neck peels, I have ordered the Dr. Graf Neck & Throat Peel. I currently use Peter Thomas Roth, but it is costly, and my next supersize won’t arrive til the fall. I’m hoping Dr. Graf’s is as effective. I believe I have a small patch of keratosis pilaris in the center of my neck. It needs daily attention.
I just bought mine in the blingy jar about a week ago, glad to know it’s not just me finding ‘buggers’ on my neck after I’ve applied this. I’ve been using it twice a day for 5 days now, every time it has left little white blobs..ugh. I’m debating whether to return it, trying to give it a fair chance and try to like it.
I have noticed pilling also on the neck. It doesn’t happen every time, just now and then. I think that means I need to exfoliate the neck, to get the dead skin off. Would love to have this addressed by Prai as it seems to be a common problem.
Prai products don’t play well with other lines, I have found. THey also need to be applied sparingly. I’ve had this issue with many of the products… but the throat cream is the one I love and use twice a day and have been for…2 years? It only pills when I layer it over a serum from a different line; use too much of it; or apply certain spf’s over it.
Yes, this is a tempramental line of skincare but IMHO the best neck cream out there so I put up with it, lol.
I have only had Prai pill up once. I think it was because I was sort of massaging it in absentmindedly rather than just gently applying. Unfortunately it was a morning application so I looked like I had lint balls all over my face and neck. Sticking to night application now and very light touch during the day….think fingers as butterfly wings.
Wow I am so touched that so many of you took the time to reply concerning this issue. Sorry I have not been on the computer so much in the last few days – tendinitis 🙁 using a tablet isn’t as aggravating as typing with the keyboard on my computer.
I must confess that I have exfoliated my face regularly, but never thought to do much about the neck.
I have since been exfoliating my neck now two to three times a week.
I have noticed less mini balls forming. I have used a very small amount before – I am wondering if I do have a defective one. I will contact the company too and see what they have to say.
What I would recommend if you do order this product and have not been routinely exfoliating your neck – I would recommend using the time between ordering and when the product arrives to start the exfoliation process of your neck – don’t over do it – no more than 3 times a week.
If you don’t have an exfoliation product I have used sugar – put into my coffee grinder to get it to a super fine grind – or buy the super fine sugar mix in a bit of coconut oil and step in the shower and exfoliate your neck and arms. Then rinse the remaining sugar coconut oil off – be careful in the shower not to slip – you might want to give the bottom of the shower an extra rinse 🙂
I don’t know if this applies or not, but I’ll mention it. When I was young there was a product that was produced from bee extracts. There was a cream that was suppose to smooth dry skin and it did the same thing on some people – rolled up into ‘boogers’ (you gals are a hoot!). Turns out your skin had to be perfectly DRY, even the humidity from a shower would mess it up because it had a type of wax in it and if there was even the slightest bit of water or moisture on your face the wax couldn’t stay on the skin, it just rolled up. That’s because wax and water don’t mix, of course. I’d think they would be more sophisticated than that today, though.
Some people thought it had something to do with body temperature, too, because it would pill up after they went out in the cold and the skin on their face got cooler.
You have a mystery going here. Good luck. Every product isn’t for every skin, so I guess you just have to experiment, but it sure is hard to waste money.
Okay Girls, Girls, I just got mine, and had NO pill up or liitle balls. I also have to add the jar was wrapped up, and came shipped in a box.
No problems here….:womanhappy:
Ok to everyone interested- Yesterday I sent a personal email to the company & told them what I have used of their product and how I have applied it & worked with it and no matter the application it rolls up and pills in little balls off the face. I just checked my email & they were so kind to reply so I must say their customer service is great for getting back in touch with me so soon- Their reply is-
You are correct in saying that a very small amount is all you would need as it does go a long way. If you apply too much product that is the only way I would see this happening. And for the eye, this is the only product needed.
Now for the Radiant Caviar Flawless Finish – this can be applied first or over a moisturizer – again a very small amount goes a long way. Makes a great primer for make up as well.
Only recommendation I can make is use less product. Let me know if that helps!
So I tried everyone- Perhaps this can be addressed more when she comes back on air someone can call in and ask more?? I was very detailed about my application & that was my answer 🙂
Hmmm. I just went into my beauty arsenal and found an unopened jar of their Eye Repair Caviar. Now I remember her quoting it felt like marshmallows & it did! But it balled up. I threw the the opened jar away .Maybe next time she airs she can answer our questions? There are no ingredients listed so I don’t know……
Could it have an old expiry date? Sometimes, that’s a problem too.
? I purchased last yr, and it rolled off my skin too, like BOOGERS. I thought I was the only one! I guess it has nothing to do w being a bad batch. I always wondered about that. So gross! Will never reorder. Now I use Elysee’s.
This may or may not help (I used to work for a dermatologist)…when you get ready to apply your cream, emulsify it in your hands before you apply it. That breaks down the cream and it might help to penetrate into your skin. It should change the creaminess a little so that the product “slips”. I hope it works for you – it’s honestly a fabulous cream.
Good evening . Ladies when you have time google every ingredient . I found out the combination of several work like a peel or scrub . One of the reasons you see the white balls . For example ,Sodium Hyaluronate is the main ingredient in Restylane wrinkle injections . One of the first ingredients in the Product . I can’t understand how the percentage could deeply penetrate our skin in a topical solution .
I am in no way putting down Prai . Seems like a wonderful vendor with a a lot of research in skincare.
The products I purchase many years ago , work more like a scrub or light peel in my case .
