Why must one buy a $60 plus bottle of perfume, pay S&H, only to determine I don’t like it and have to ship it back?
I’m suggesting that a sampling method be set up. How about a customer go to your beauty section, have a choice of say 3, 5 or 10 selections of the perfumes you sell and have them come to them by paying a minimum. The customer when ordering, and I guess it would have to be internet orders, would have a selection list come up then select the 3, 5 or 10 samples. The samples would be simple small glass tubes with plastic caps much like retail used to do.
Actual perfumes in glass are as what the perfumes would be. Perfume samples like in magazines have a lot to be desired. Actual small amounts of the product can therefore be tested on the skin for sensitivity and change with body chemistry or just simply desirability. Then the customer could order a regular size of their choice eliminated the back and forth of whole bottles.
It recently made me feel so bad to return a whole bottle that I "had" to use to sample, it doesn’t leave me with desired to keep trying other scent because it’s a waste to you and me. Or, do you have a sampling method set up I’m unaware of?
You are so right I am wearing the White Diamond Body Creme right now. This is a set one of
my daughters got for me. It had everything. God I love how it smells. Makes the skin
nice and soft.
Nice day here in the Midwest. But concerned about the East.
I can say this for Marilyn M. she makes the best PHEROMONE in the world.
I get her baskets and I use everything!
Plus my husband does not like a lot of perfumes but when I wear the PHEROMONE he goes
crazy and does not complain. Hmmm….:smileyhappy: MM is my number one perfume.
I love White Diamonds too. I can’t wear it as much as MM PHEROMONE. My husband does
not seem to mind this one too.:smileysurprised:
Everyone have a good day.

Also, I do agree with the comments on Marilyn! I just really admire her!
I am not sure I would buy a "sampler" or even actual perfume blindly anymore. I had a few hits and a few misses, but overall, perfume should not be a surprize you pay $$$ for. Several years ago I bought so-called sampler (not a large size with many bottles) from Marilyn Miglin. Some were good, some were ok, some I didnt care for… and there was ATREVIDA. I still haven’t forgotten the aroma. I do not think it agreed with my body chemistry or with anybodys nose who smelled the perfume. It was so bad, it was legendary. Atrevida is not a statement… its a revelation; it was not life on the edge…. it went way beyond the edge. It went to great beyond and came back as a zombie. I kept bottle in the garage for some time and eventually dumped it on an ant hill at the edge of my yard. Next day neighbor asked me if I knew what smells here… I had no idea, of course. Maybe another neighbor had accident with chemicals? My trashcan stunk for a month, as I didnt risk to transport the bottle in my car to a public dump…
Here’s another perfume story involving Marilyn Miglin. At hsn strore there was literally HUNDREDS watches with solid perfume by MM (Pheromone and Destiny- which I actually like). Dirt cheap. Like $4 each. I asked an associate why. She told me that solid perfume melts in hot weather…. The rest I leave up to your imagination… :womanlol:
Lately I am an advocate for blind buys! I know this sounds goofy but it is fun to open up a package and try something absolutely brand new! You just never know if it will work for you even with the little samples. Believe me I am with you on staying practical. But it is just fun to blind buy too! Just glad that HSN has such a great return policy. I tried to take a perfume back to a store and they said that since it is perfume they can’t return it. So to me it’s more fun with HSN!
I feel it would be great, yet it would take alot of re-shipping cost and production.
Very few fragrances are exclusive here at HSN considering the new scents launched each month.—If you view the fragrance bar you can see so many older known scents that have provided testers for many years in stores- I GUESS THEY THINK WE HAVE ALL TRIED THEM- LOL
I do think it would be easy to include samples into purchases- Herndon posted here that TAN TOWELL has offered a sample size so again anything is possible- BEAUTYBOY
I posted that perfume samples suggestion in my review of Rhonda Shear perfume many months back. It didn’t smell good on me but smelled great on my daughter. I won’t waste a lot of money on an item without testing it first.
Great idea! I totally agree.
Great idea since perfume is such a personal purchase and many are sensitive to ingredients. I would buy perfume at HSN if I could sample first.
ChildoftheUnivers, welcome to the HSN Community! I’m sorry to hear you weren’t happy with your recent purchase. We currently don’t have anything set up for sampling perfume. I like your idea and its definitely something we can look into to make new fragrance purchases easier on our customers.
