Monoi repair TS vs Tweak-D "Hair Treatment" thing
Gentle forum posters,
I bought a lot (2 three-packs!) of Tweak-D Hair treatment. I gave some as gifts but I still have two full tubes and one started left.
Now there is this Monoi stuff. Do I need it? My hair starts falling out quite a bit and I am trying to not wash it every day but at most every other day (shooting for once in three days) but then the hair gets damaged even more by trying to run the brush through the hair that got yesterday’s product on it. So I am not sure what to do – go back to washing every day, continue fighting the hair to wash only every other day or so, or what.
That Tweak-D product – while it feels pleasant to use – is making my hair heavy and greasy. Do I need Carol’s daughter?
I got their dry shampoo for dark hair to try it. But what about the TS?
I am a Tweak-d girl
My hair is long, fine & color treated. Tweak-d products are so customizable to my hair needs & I love to “cocktail” or combine some products together. My favorites are The Restore goo, Tribal Chocolate & the Rev-d Mists...the natural body in my hair also responds beautifully to the Rise & Shine formulas. My personal application tips are lightly brushing my hair before using so my fingers are not fighting any bedhead tangles, not to overuse the product…a little goes a long way & to rinse thoroughly. I have been using the products for several months now & my hair has never been healthier.
Question: Why is EVERY Todays Special for Carol’s Daughter an Monoi Haircare product! I can’t remember the last time they had something else as a TS. I understand its popular but why cant there be something else as a TS every now and then. Other brands mix it up, why not Carol’s Daughter. Is it in their contract or something?
I have never used Tweak-D so I can’t comment.
I do use MONOI shampoo I have hair down to my waist, wavy and coor treated. The MONOI is very gentle less hair falls out cleans well been using it for maby 4 years. My hair never feels greasy.
The conditioner is another story it left my hair in horrible tangles worse that any conditioner I’ve ever used I actually had to pull some hair to get the tangles out it was so bad. I’m pretty neutral on the mask not bad not great.
It works best on dry hair.
YES! I tried tweaked and returned it because it was heavy and builds up on your hair. I have been using Carols Daughter for two years. It works and doesnt build up at all. Carols Daughter really is a prestige product. I used to pay a fortune for it at Ulta. The only shampoo i have ever used that really can keep your hair looking great after even 3 days. Im pushing 50 and have no breakage anymore and rarely even have to clean my brush. I use. TS is a great deal. Sometimes I use Taya because I like what white clay does….but Caols Daughter is what keeps my hair healthy.
Massha, I have been using the Monoi shampoo and conditioner for about 4-6 mths. It is good but not sure I like it that well
What I really like is the Monoi Oil Sacred Strenth Serum. That is very much worth the money. You can comb right thru your hair after putting that on. I got that on AS at a lower price than what it is now. But you could give it a try and if you like it put it in your favs to see if it comes down in price.
I don’t know anything about the hair mask, but will pass on the TS . But I do recommend the Monoi Serum.
Massha, the TS is very heavy unless you have dry hair. Are you using Tweak-D every time you wash your hair right now? If you are, maybe you should only use it once a week or so. I think part of the problem you are describing, fighting to brush though yesterday’s products is due to starting with hair that is “heavy” from washing with a conditioning cream. I have very long hair and find that using a clarifying shampoo once a weeK really helps with buildup and shedding. I only wash my hair every 3 days in the winter.
