Lipstick As Your Blush
Do any of you wear your lipstick as your blush? I don’t know if it is frowned upon but I do from time to time. It doesn’t have the staying power of a blush but I like it to match my lipstick.
I love lipstick! LOVE! I don’t use it as blush but I might if I didn’t have blush I liked (bareMinerals) or was in a pinch.
Just got this new product, Bite Beauty Multistick. It is lipstick, blush, eyeshadow in one. I love their other products so had to get one to try as lipstick. I still prefer 2 of their other lip formulas (Matte Creme Crayon, Amuse Bouche) but the Multistick color I got is so beautiful, Macaroon. Available at one store in the US starts with Se_____. :smileywink:
I sure do! Josie Maran intentionally makes a few sticks that are lip, blush and eye shadow-
For me it all depends on the feel (ingrediants) of the lip stick- some do make me break out if i put them on my face.
I have many times because I am not into foundation. I like eyeliner a touch of smokey eye look then out the door. Less to pell off when you get home. I guess that is how I have kept my skin clear.. not clogging it daily.
I don’t wear blush as I don’t think it looks good for my complexion. I say wear what the heck you want. Only thing is you’re needing to reapply if it has no staying power. Don’t you have to do this with a regular blush too?
I don’t because I don’t like the consistency or feel of lipstick on my cheeks. I have used Benefit Benetint during the summer months. I keep several shades of blush and bronzer on hand.
One of my past professions was creating and packaging makeup by hand – liquid foundations, powders, blushes, bronzers, highlighters, lipsticks, glosses – u name it. I even “tubed” the lipsticks w a special mold. Measuring and mixing the pigments to create the perfect colors for each of my clients was like a kid in a candy store. I will tell u that the wax base – whether it’s butter, creme or matte – used to create a lipstick will clog your pores more than a noncomedogenic blush. If your pores don’t get clogged easily, then don’t worry about it.
I don’t wear much lipstick as such. I’m a lipgloss girl. And I have used my gloss as blush!
My Mom used to wear lipstick when she went out and occasionally she would use her lipstick as blush, but she didn’t wear makeup at all…she was blessed with good skin and coloring!
I do all the time! As for clogging your Pores… what a crock. Foundation clogs your pores… so does Cream Blush… so does Powdered Blush! *lol* It’s just another clever marketing ploy by Madison Avenue to get one to buy ‘Blush’ instead of using their Lipstick as a Rouge, sheesh!
Here’s how it goes… Cleanse your face in the morning… Clog your pores with make-up… Cleanse your face at night to unclog your pores. It’s that simple.
Lipstick can clog the pores on your cheeks, like ? said. I don’t know how many lipstick colors u switch between, but I recommend picking up at least two blush shades if u can. U can even mix them together to make a third shade of blush. For example, choose one cool pink and one warm peach. Mix them together to make coral!
I used to do it all the time when I was young. That was back when we didn’t have alot of choices in blush. But someone told me that that it was bad for the pores of my skin because the face is such a different texture from the lips, so I stopped. I still think it’s a good idea and I’m surprised someone hasn’t come up with a duel purpose item. Or maybe they have, I don’t pay too much attention to everything on the market in make-up. I tend to stick with what works and don’t experiment too much. Gets too expensive.
