How long are creams/ serums good
How long are creams and serums good for after they’re opened?
Most creams and serums are fine for 3 years unopened and one year after being opened. Some exceptions to this would be some of the “clean” products which rarely have any preservatives. These products will typically develop an unpleasant odor when expired. Some products containing things like retinol or C are fine unopened but may lose some of their efficacy if opened and not used for months.
Good question! I hope someone knows the answer! I would think 6 months or so, depending on the ingredients. I was wondering how long serums, lotions last if they are NOT opened! I have some serums from Bioscience that have the different phases of Retinol. I have never opened them and I think they are two years old? I hope somebody has the answer for that question too. I think if I had opened them, they would have to be thrown out after 6 months but not sure how long shelf life is if unopened. I thinks it is when they come into contact with the air that makes them go bad. Seems I have heard that in the case of retinol.
