Hair Styling Products
I am interested in what products and tools u ladies use to style ur hair. Plz share ur hair type and hair style too!
Faire, your hair is GORGEOUS!!!! Thank you for discussing the need for a water filter and the brand you recommend. I DO notice a smell when the hot water is running in the shower and I swear it’s a chemical kind of scent (no one else smells it, of course). I’m going to buy one and go from there.
The hair dryer stand intrigues me… I can not low out my hair with a brush because I need two hands; this may be the answer!!
Thank you again!!!
I do not have one specific goto product.
I frequently use Paul Mitchell and Hempz Coutre shampoo. perfect hair day in a bottle.
I alsolove wen oil on hair and skin. Great for Ezczema.
My hair is down to my waist, so, when blow-drying, I can’t hold the Dryer in one hand and the Brush in the other. To that end, I use a Stand Blow Dryer Holder so that, now, drying my hair is a breeze.
I also us Proclaim’s Foaming Hair Wrap and Glosser… Smoothes-out my hair, controls Frizz, and adds Body; the Glosser adds Shine.
I give my hair a Protein Pack (Nexxus Emergencee) and Deep Conditioning Treatment (Cantu Shea Butter) every 8-weeks.
DRUG STORE or AMAZON
If you decide to use the Nexxus Emergencee, DO NOT follow the Directions on the package for you will not get the results you desire. Ask, and I’ll give the proper Directions to use this stuff.
I would like to say a word about WATER. Because all water is treated with Chlorine in a chemical plant, (unless you’re on well-water), you’re behind the 8-ball from the beginning if you don’t use a Water Filter in your shower. Problems with Frizz, Dryness, Lack of Shine, Fly-Away, Tangles, Breakage, Shedding, etc. can be attributed to the Chlorine in your water.
It will also make your skin Dry and Itchy, and irritate your eyes making them Sting, turn Red, and wanting to constantly Rub them.
Chlorine becomes gaseous at room temperature, so, you’re also breathing in the Chlorine Gas as you bathe… not good for lungs especially, or the body in general.
To this end, we tried the Aquasana Filter, (there are others of this kind on the market as well). We were so impressed with the results of this Shower Filter, that we invested in a Whole Home Filter System.
This is the Smoothness I get from all these products…
Then, after drying, I twist my hair and clip for a couple of hours…
And this is the result…
Your hair is so stunning and let’s not forget your nails too. You once wrote about
your hair and nails and they are all yours. I love the hair style. 🙂
WOW OH WOW FAIR!!! YOU’RE HAIR IS GORGEOUS!!!!
I have very fine/thin hair and have tried loads of different products and brands lol
The HSN line that I really love for hair is Sally Hershberger. I use her dry shampoo everyday to add texture and a little grit to my hair so its not so soft, and I carry the mini one in my purse…. sometimes my bangs are too soft and just blow around even after I’ve used a hair spray so I like using the dry shampoo to touch them up instead because the grit seems to keep them in place. I also like her mousse and texturizing paste, but don’t use them everyday.
Aside from that I use the Redken quick tease.
I love Oribe styling products but recently discovered Drybar and am using more and more of them. In fact, they are replacing my Oribe products (though nothing can replace the Oribe split ends sealer!!).
Tools wise, just a cheap blowdryer from TJ Maxx. When ironing, I use a Babyliss Pro iron.. I think the cut is where you should put your money as well as having a style that works with your natural hair type. I don’t use anything other than my fingers; no brushes, no nothing to style my hair and I credit my cut for that (well, an amazing stylist!!).
Hi Kemiqueen!!! I am a Pantene gal. I have long, fine hair and shampoo with Pantene moisture shampoo and use Argon Oil mid way to the ends of my hair and then blow dry it. Once a month I use a deep conditioner. I usually wear my hair up or in a pony. It’s too hot and humid here in Florida to wear it down. I do not look good in short hair and the upkeep is too much for me. I have several hair pieces I use as well. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A GOOD GLOSS FOR HAIR? I also quit coloring my hair about five years ago so I have no hair color or perm on it. Great thread Kemi!
Kemiqueen, I get a gloss after I get my hair colored. It makes it look shiny like glass.
I have blonde, fine, light wavy hair. A few times a month I get a professional blow out. At home, I never use heat and like keeping my hair pulled back into a knot. I wash it with “Matrix Sleek” and then apply one pump of “Sebastian Potion 9”. Air dry. It keeps my locks shiny and frizz free. I live in the tropics. Love this old tried and true product! Great for blow dry as well.
This product will not weigh your hair down! 🙂
Wen’s new hairspray is the best.
