Not sure if any of you are aware that It Cosmetics has been sold to L’Oreal. Some of L’Oreals brands test on animals. This is not to say It Cosmetics does, (at least not at the moment) but for those of you who care about these matters, you may want to look into it.
Happy Beauti-fying gals!
Thanks for letting us know. My mom & I both broke out with white heads from Lancome lotions, but knowing they test on animals, I’ll never try any other products from them.
That is such a bummer, I ‘loved’ It Cosmetics and I use their products everyday. I’m so disappointed as I agree with JADiva once a big company takes over the products change. They have lost me as a customer. I just don’t like L’Oreal or Lancome make up products. I’ve used L’Oreal mositurizers and they’ve been fine, but when it comes to foundation etc Lancome is too pricey and not that great. BTW my sister is a Lancome rep and I even tell her I don’t like the products.
The opening post was to help you make a decison about your beauty products, if you are so inclined.
thanks for passing on to us this important information. i must say that i liked it cosmetics- especially the brushes. and, not to mention that l’oreal has always been a readily accessible super popular fixture in italian pharmacies all around italy. italian women love it!!! i guess it must be in my blood because i too love l’oreal. eveything from mascara to lip gloss. it’s superb. love it. xoxo
psandbtw, a few years ago, wasn’t “carol’s daughter” bought by l’oreal as well?? eventually these companies get to be just too big for small companies to handle. i remember when “burt’s bees” was sold to clorox. i was so disappointed but i still use the burts bees products to this day. for me, the quality never changed. in fact, it may have gotten a bit better. it’s now smoother and more refined. and, this is just a prediction, but i have a fear that the “honest” brand of products that have exploded onto the general marketplace is going to go that ways too. i just wonder to whom and for how much. i don’t blame anyone for cashing out. we should all be so lucky. oh, sigh… xoxo
Serenafan, thanks for letting us know. I like a few items from It Cosmetics I like very much, but when a line gets sold to a bigger company, many times the product changes. FYI Loreal own Lancome and Urban Decay too among many others. This is what Loreal websites states about animal testing
“L’Oréal no longer tests on animals any of its products or any of its ingredients, anywhere in the world. Nor does L’Oréal delegate this task to others. An exception could only be made if regulatory authorities demanded it for safety or regulatory purposes.”
I have had a poor experience trying It Cosmetics and ended up returning the items. The mascara was dry and crumbled into my eyes. The CC Cream was like grease paint. :smileymad:
True, don’t like animal testing, and yes I do know what it means.
Sorry ladies for this comment, but I just had to laugh at myself …just popped into my head,
pictured all these creams and colors of makeup on all these animals…they sure must look pretty.
Don’t holler to loud at me :smileysad:
I didn’t know that LOreal tested on animals. But so many companies do….tooo many companies.
With the way company’s are bought and sold – who can keep track.
IT never worked on me the way they showed on TV. They show it covering up a really bad case of Rosea but it wouldn’t even cover my brown spots! I think I bought one or more of everything and they are also in the bottomless drawer of products that do not work for me.
Shame on L’Oreal if they really test on animals. That’s a really big no-no in my book.
Thank you for the heads up Serenafan!
I thought Lancôme owned L’Oreal.
Thanks for posting this. I had no idea IT was sold.
Also that L’Oréal tested on animals. Shame on them. :womansad:
Thanks for the info and heads-up Serenafan!:womanhappy:
