This past year I developed the hated age spots. For the first time in my life I had to suddenly start wearing concealer and heavier bases. I don’t like heavier bases :). I realize that now that I am “old” I have to make sure to wear sun screen and keep my face out of the sun. I bought some expensive fade creams that did nothing for me. Then i bought what my mother used way back in the day, Esoterica, and it has really helped! Do any of the vendors on HSN sell fade cream? I haven’t seen it advertised but I may have missed it. Sometimes the older products that have been around for decades are the best ones. Just thought I would share.
? I have sun freckles across my nose and cheeks that expand and multiply when I step in the sun. My mother is Irish, but my father is Japanese, so I don’t burn, just freckle. I also have melasma in a small area. My dermatologist put me on Hydroquinone 4%, but I stopped using it, bc I’m liking my otc and pro stuff better! Out of my HSN products, these really help fade my spots:
– SSC Glycolic Pads (SSC Pure Peptide Pads did nothing for me)
P.S. – If I don’t wear broad spectrum SPF, the spots come back/darken, so I use Pharmagel Derma Brite Moisturizer w SPF 35, but I get that from the licensed pro store.
HSN carries some of Elysee’s LuminAcai line, which really targets brightening. I read about it in the Elysee monthly newsletter (go to their website), and it sounds excellent. I’m going to try it when I run out of some stuff.
Hi Pamlou! You ask such great questions. Kemiqueen, thanks for sharing all of your knowledge. I hope both of you ladies have a great day!
Elysee LuminAcai got rid of some spots on my face and pretty quickly too.
I have tons of ugly spots on my arms and spent the past winter using Nadinola on those, but alas, they have not shown any improvement. I think I may need to consider more drastic measures for those or just learn to live with them.
1. Exfoliate…both mechanically with scrub or machine.
2. Exfoliate with fruit acid based peel
3. Lighten your newly exfoliated and receptive skin . Dr. Brandt makes a couple of excellent ones.
4. Keep the skin nourished with serums
5. Provent new spots from developing with sunscreen.
It is a battle and one that takes several weeks till you hit the maintenance mode, but well worth it.
I have dark spots on my upper lip and from a distance it makes me look as though I have a moustache
I really apprecaite all the advice in this discussion. I was just looking on HSN for fade/brighteners. Thanks!
Y’all are a wealth of information. I have saved your comments to a word document on my computer. I can’t wait to experiment with them 🙂
Just picked up the new Korres Wild Rose Mask on SALE off the Beauty Report!!! Free Shipping & 4 Flex woohoo ??????????????
Just saw the Beauty Bioscience presentation and they claim the system will fade spots and shrink poors in addition to the anti-aging. I ordered it. They give a 60-day money-back on this one. If it works it will be worth it. I have used Nadinola in the past. I think it worked okay but I didn’t like the smell or the way it made my skin feel, plus no anti-aging. Does anyone have experience with Beauty Bioscience?
I went ahead and picked up Helen’s Elysee Host Pick. I love Elysee, and this is perfect for fading sun damage!
