Eyelashes are breaking off. What
I noticed last December that my eyelashes broke off, in a straight line. I thought it might be a new waterproof mascara drying them out, and a cheap new eyelash curler, because of how straight and even the break was across my eyelashes. Tossed both those items and it is still happening, but just on my left eye. So then I thought maybe when I’m opening my oven door, I’m leaning in too quickly and the heat from the oven is causing it. So I make sure I’m not reaching in to the oven too quickly and turn sideways. But it still happening. Its only my left side now, and I don’t sleep on my left side. So now I’m wondering if its the make-up remover Im using. which I love and have used for 2 years. Its Adrienne’s meltaway. Maybe this new batch has a difference in ingredients? So, now I’m using a different make up remover to see if it stops. Anyone else have eyelash breakage?
1) I’m relieved to know its not the Adrianne’s meltaway make up remover. (because I love the product)
2) Its such an even cut on my eyelashes that it could be left over from maybe the cheap eyelash curler I used last December when both sides of my eyelashes were shortened. Its a clean break and my eyelashes were not brittle (he tested them). Since the first time I experienced the break in my lashes, I’ve been using a product called wonderlash, (or some similar name like that) and it could just be that the right side grew faster than my left side.
3) If it happens again, then we get my thyroid checked. Eyebrows are not thinning, but lower lashes are.
So, I’m glad to know it wasn’t from a product from HSN, just something with me. Thanks for input everyone!
I’ve managed to get an appointment tomorrow
How odd that it’s only on one eye which would suggest some sort of trauma but I’m not a physician. You might visit your dermatologist who is an internist who specialized in dermatology and would have the knowledge of both specialties.
I certainly hope you take care of Your Eyes, soon and you so very welcome, It’s my pleasure, as I said not a doctor, I can only tell you to see one… and Please let me know, I am sure all will be fine, there’s a prescription your doctor may write, to grow your lashes back, don’t worry you are beautiful inside and out:) Oh yes, allergies are at a Raging 11.2 today. out of control. Please be well, I hope all things work out for YOU:) You are so Sweet:) xoxox toffeedude xoxoxo
Perplexing that the breakage is in a straight line! Is it happening to your lower lashes as well? Perhaps the new curler is so "cheap", as you stated, that it is made more rough, or doesn’t have a silicone/rubber pad for the uppers, and has slowly cut into the lashes, and they’re still continuing to gradually break from the "trauma"??? ‘Interesting that this is happening after trying something new. But it doesn’t make sense that mascara or remover would cause such linear breakage.
I agree with ToffeeDude, your MD or opthamologist may see this kind of thing on a regular basis and be able to solve this mystery. For me personally, the outer 1/3 of my eyebrows aren’t as full since my thyroid function declined, which is common, but it was gradual over time, and random. I keep getting hung up on your breaks being LINEAR. It almost sounds like the lashes were cut or seared! You weren’t roasting marshmallows too close to a bonfire, were you, Lori?! Oh I kid you!
Please let us know what your MD or opthamologist unearths if you go see them! I’d find it interesting to know what’s at the bottom of this myself.
? Dear LORIW57, Personally I would check with my opthamologist, I doubt it would be meltaway, not just one eye ? My left eye is horrible, and did not know what was going on until I went to an opthamologist. I have one very bad droopy eye, twitchy when I am nervous, or when it feels like it, they told me botox for blephorspasm, I chose ADREW LESSMANS EYE SUPPORT instead. I also had to have tear ducts put in. Sorry, I do not know your situation, if you have anything else going on with this, like dry eye etc. I am not a doctor, so I can’t advise, I would suggest you even contact your regular doctor first. Hoping your lashes come back, would not put on fakes, until you see your doctor. GOD BLESS, wishing you the best xoxo toffeedudexoxo
