For a long time now I have not been able to find a foundation that would not clump and not go on smoothly. I had been using a exfoilator but it must have not been strong enough. So, I ordered a retinol 1% with Vit. C and peptides and within a few days the old skin was peeling off and that was the problem with foundations.
With smoother skin I am able to wear foundation without it looking dry and clumping!
The hosts should make that more clear about exfoilation.
? I’m glad u discovered a more effective way to exfoliate! Good for u, lady. 🙂 In addition to the ingredients u mentioned, I use Peter Thomas Roth Firmx Peeling Gel. It is a smooth, non-abrasive gel which dissolves the dead cells on contact, and u can feel them roll off on your fingertips! Very satisfying!!
I use K. West 360 Exfoliating device.

I like to keep with a regular practice and products this will keep you from having problems with using multiple items.
Your skin will ask you what are you doing to me? I like it, do not change wash, exfoliate.. AHHHH!
Exfoliation is such an important step! Even one use can remove so many dead layers which keeps your skin from receiving hydration and also produces oil because our skin thinks it needs it! Hoope that makes some sense…
I have combination skin and even get some little breakouts but also have dry patches and not too wrinkled but do want to prevent where possible. Keeping balance is difficult! Exfoliate with something gentle or even just a firm washcloth and a light cleanser, if you dont have any ‘scrubble’ what I called it as a teen lol, or dont know what to try. SSC Glowbrasion was a perfect product but the new version in the tubes not quite as good as the jars of yesteryear.
I think I’ll go do it right now. 😉
Glad to find this thread. Thanks for mentioning.
– glad to read you mentioned that. Exfoliation is very important to rid the skin of dead cells that just lay on the skin and make your foundation lay on looking crusty & laying in the lines. However, please ladies do not over exfoliate! 2-3 times a week is enough to exfoliate. Over exfoliating causes the skin to work overtime thinking it has to produce more oil thus making your face feel dry, yet you think you need a heavier moisturizer to compensate and then you end up with breakouts.
Kemi- where are you??????? we could tag team on the skin care stuff, please come back
