Big Mistake Serious Skincare
Saw SSC 2019 launch & it was sad.Evine is where brands go to die like Victoria Wieck. SSC are charging shipping now & aren’t offering any incentive to follow them by way of deals. As a 20 year SSC user, I have moved on during their hiatus & don’t plan on returning unless they make it worth my while which Evine isn’t known for.

I should have noted my source for beginning of posting. It is scientific.
Parabens are a group of preservative ingredients used in cosmetic, personal hygiene products, food products and pharmaceuticals. They are highly effective in preventing the growth of fungi, bacteria and yeast that can cause products to spoil. Thus, they contribute directly to the quality of the products by extending their shelf life, making them safe for the families who use them.
What are parabens?
Parabens are derived from para-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHBA) that occurs naturally in many fruits and vegetables, such as cucumbers, cherries, carrots, blueberries and onions. PHBA also is naturally formed in the human body by the breakdown of some amino acids. Parabens used in cosmetics are identical to those found in nature, and the human body quickly changes them into natural PHBA and eliminates them.

Parabens are contained in 90% of food in grocery stores.

I went to the website this is a blogger she is not a scientist she just reads and than copies stuff onto her blogs.
“Things finally changed when I turned to science. I scoured through every scientific journal I could get my little hands on (did I also tell you I’m a weirdo?) to find out what REALLY works to get rid of wrinkles, dark spots and blemishes. Now, no one believes me when I say I’m 34.
I know you have better things to do than reading long and boring science papers. That’s why I created Beautiful With Brains. Here, I share what I’ve discovered in an easy and fun way that won’t make your head spin (but may make you spit out your Coke with laughter – yes, that happened).”
I read her paraben blog not impressed again she is not a scientist just a regular person.
She also has links to different websites to purchase products that she recommends sounds shady to me.

They contain parabens. Junk

I am very upset that SSC went to Evine. The kits are not the same, deals not the same. Almost everything is a solo, and prices not great. I am trying to hang on. I hope it gets better.
-
I miss SSC on HSN. I wish HSN had been more hospitable to them, so they didn’t leave. I hate EVINE/SHOPHQ. Funny thing is they are located near me in MN. But they now have a studio in CA. No doubt to accommodate SSC visits.
Maybe the deal SSC was offered was FORCED appearances on QVC. This would have driven me off too. Being SSC was so successful as a product line, I’m sure QVC wanted in on it too. Then when they eliminate HSN, they would have another successful vendor in their pocket. 🤬🥵🤯😱
-
Agree with you 150%. I remember having the same thoughts when I saw them on Evine.
-
It seems the original poster, & some others are assuming that SSC & other former HSN vendors *wanted* to leave. Perhaps they got the boot from HSN.
Regardless, if we like a vendor enough, we will follow them.
-
I currently have 15% off at Evine.
I don’t recall the last time HSN offered a coupon.
I buy direct from SSC. They send me their daily deals which are 40 to 70 percent off. Their shipping charges on these deals can get as low as .99 cents.
-
Thank you for your post. I see you shop DIRECT from SSC… have you checked out the promotional site – seriouskits yet? Going on to celebrate Jennifer’s b-day… INCREDIBLE savings

I will just say that I’m very sad that SSC has left. I have two daughters who have faithfully been using the products for years. Just sad.
-
I just found out that she left HSN for Evine , when Suzanne Sommers left and went there she crashed and burned , not sure where she is now or if she retired . I don’t follow her . I find that greedy people lose in the end , and SSC will follow her sooner than later . She has had so much plastic surgery { like a few other beauty guru’s } I don’t find her credible , in my opinion lying about your beauty line doing all that great work for you is just a bit too far . I take great care of my skin , and even though I do buy high end products they have not done for me what she claims her does . I also agree with Evine selling out their customers , terrible customer service , they held a ring for me a long time ago in wrong color , when I called to ask about all the details it showed it in yellow gold , but they had shipped me white gold . I returned and never shopped with them again . I have had friends leave them after shopping 4 ~ 5 years and got burned by them . Sad , really ~

LOL, sounds like a bunch of mean girls at High School. If you don’t like Evine then don’t shop there. I have never seen it. If you don’t like the offers then don’t buy and if others have a good experience and like them who cares.
-
I watched an hour and Jennifer went on and on about how she got a warm welcome at Evine like she’s never seen before. She must be very upset with HSN but regardless I won’t purchase anything from Evine as they are horrible to do business with. They destroyed my credit last time I did. They do a hard credit check every time you use value pays and with no notice at all they will randomly cancel an order and decide not to let you use value pay anymore even if you have the money to pay.JUST LIKE THAT. They just right out cancel orders without giving you options to pay in full or anything. I and many other people I know had awful experience s with them. Good luck Jennifer 🙁

That ‘new guy’ is Serious John. He’s been with SSC forever !
-
Hey there! Long time no see/hear! YOU BET I have been with SSC for a long time! LOL – STILL HERE and STILL LOVE working with Jennifer and the team. Hope you are doing well. We are still plugging along – have an evolving business (as always) – but more direct to the customer than ever before… able to pass values/savings on to the customer – all with .99 cent shipping.
Regardless – great seeing your “handle” here – hope to hear from you someday. XO
-
His on camera role as a “forearm model” for liquid laser is a far cry from filling Jennifer & Cecilias presenter shoes which he IS ‘new’ to. I’d rather see Cecilias mom come back.
-
And for all those years – I was sacrificing my arm hair for the good of the cause! LOL It was my pleasure and truly, THEN, a VERY small part on-air in front of you all… alas, we all evolve (or so we hope). You can imagine after those shows featuring Liquid Laser I would fly home – boarding the plane (in short sleeve shirts, since it was Tampa and usually very warm) the looks I would get from the flight attendants with my striped arms of hair/no-hair. Hope you are well and surviving the current situation – all the best, John

I picked up some really good deals today on SSC. A lot of the prices are less than what HSN charged for the same product. Shipping is $2.99 and since I spent over $75, it was free. Vendors tend to move around when their contracts expire if they can’t reach a beneficial contract for both parties. We are not privy to contract negotiations between HSN and SSC or other vendors who have left. If I want the product bad enough, I’ll buy it elsewhere including Evine.
-
Hi Jennifer. LOL. Maybe there’s a private sale that the rest of us weren’t invited to b’cuz as a 20 year SSC customer, I saw nothing that even remotely compared to SSC usual January or holiday sales. Yes, vendors change. As a customer, my bottom line are the deals & competitive pricing vs what else is available in the market @ that price point. I’m not concerned with speculation over network contract negotiations. Luckily, I stocked up on BOGO & triple cleanser sales last year. SKINN Cosmetics is the only skincare I buy on Evine. Superior quality & results. AND the new guy that did SSC presentation… “It’s a NO for me.”
-
Please get your facts straight before tossing out accusations. My name is Susie, not Jennifer. However, I’ll take it as a compliment. 😂 I’ve been a member in this community for 8 years posting and participating, especially on the Heidi Daus Thread. So now that we cleared that up, the prices are not a private sale and available on Evine’s website to regular, everyday people, like us. As for the new guy 😂 and how you obviously don’t like him, ibbyb straightened that one out. By the way, Jennifer is too busy to be posting here. She is shattering sales records over at Evine today. SSC has excellent customer service and tried to accommodate their loyal customers during the changeover. There are much bigger problems in the world and no need to spread fake news.

Hi Susie how was New Years? As you can bet we are guessing what the TS for Heidi Daus
will be. Happy New Year again. Shout out to all. I know the prime rib was delish. -
Hi Sheba,
I am intrigued by Heidi’s Enchante suite and I think it’s a really good guess. Since the one necklace is interchangeable with the ring, I am excited to see how it will work. I love when she brings us such versatile pieces. My prime rib was delicious. I was concerned about the au jus and what spices to add. There was no need. The juice on its own was really good. I will definitely make it again because it was super easy and tasted so good. I just won’t do it for a crowd again. I could have bought another Heidi piece with what I spent on prime rib, 😁. It’s all about spending time with family and friends and making beautiful memories together. Can’t put a price on that. Thanks for the shout out, Sheba, and you’ll see me soon on the Heidi thread or Conversation thread ❤️

Hi, southernlights55! Good to see you. Now I’m craving prime rib. I love it! A little sourcream/horseradish on the side …. 🙂
-
Thanks Susie. Likewise. If you don’t find peace, there’s always a piece of Heidi Daus costume jewelry to fill that void I suppose. Glad you acknowledged your claim of SSC “free shipping” on Evine was false. Not sure how you made that oversight since you claim to have made several ‘great deal’ purchases there today, but credibility is overrated online, right? I don’t want to tie up anymore of your time since your husband has already lost 8 years of quality time to HSN threads. Bless his dear heart. 😉
-
My mistake, free shipping on $75 or more on beauty and health products if you use Evine charge card. If you don’t have an Evine charge card, shipping is ONLY $2.99.
Now that we cleared up that I am not Jennifer and the new guy is really the old guy, I am going to relax with my husband and continue smiling and loving life. I don’t sweat the small stuff when there are bigger fish to fry. I hope you find peace in your world. ❤️
-
FYI, Evine is NOT offering “free shipping” on SSC like you claimed. You must have or apply for an EVINE CREDIT CARD AND charge a minimum of $75 in one order to get (not so) “free shipping” on that order. The rest of us pay shipping costs which almost never occured on HSN during visits. How many legs does a dog have if you call his tail a leg? Four. Saying that a tail is a leg doesn’t make it a leg. Abraham Lincoln I’ll just leave it there. 🐕

Hmmmm…….

And I’ll leave it at that. 🥂
