Best (if any) skincare for sagging facial skin
Would love to find a product “that works” either temporary or over time to help the appearance of sagging skin around the nose/mouth area due to sudden weight loss. Not looking to do any injections from my dermatologist.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Honestly no skin cream can lift sagging skin. Because the sagginess is from loss of collagen and muscle. Creams can’t address that trust me I’m 62 and 7 years ago lost 40 pounds and I’ve worked at bringing my face without surgery and minimal needles.
What you can do is try non invasive treatments before going for a facelift.
I get microcurrent facials every other week, it tones the muscles and can over time lift. It also stimulates collagen growth. Depending where you live it can cost between $75 to $150 per session. The at home lift kits aren’t as powerful imo a waste of time. Another great add on is a Red LED light therapy which is proven to increase collagen production. Last there are some lasers and thermage which tighten but you need to go to a great dermatologist.
The next option after that is to go to a very good dermatologist for fillers they have procedures now called liquid facelifts. The effect will last 3 to 5 months costs about $1500.
I’ve used Perricone products, the neuropeptide cream and conformer.
It doesn’t give near the lift as you get from a series of microcurrent facials for the same price. Neuropeptide cream is roughly $300 conformer $500.
Last consider adding collagen supplements to your diet and adding treatments that stimulate collagen.
Thank you, didn’t know about the red light therapy. I understand the collagen loss and was told that supplements wouldn’t help. My Derm was suggesting Sculptura injections, would need 3 -$2400 and then 1 $800 vial per year for upkeep. I noticed an assistant in her office that had it done and didn’t look natural 😬
Thank you for your suggestions, most appreciated.
I suggest you go to the best dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
There’s a huge difference in injectables and artistry level. Obviously this dr is no artist if the assistant had her injections done by that doctor. Especially suggesting sculptural off the bat for first time!
If it’s your first time would only do hylauranic acid injections since the needles are smaller and the fill is very thin so easier to adjust for natural look. Sculptura is a heavier thicker fill no dr should recommend that on a first time.
My derm suggested this route for me since it’s best to go conservative. Your dr can add a touch more a week or so later.
What you really need to consider is how invasive of a procedure you do. A very good derm or plastic surgeon will lay out all options for you as well as the pros and cons. You need to be an informed consumer on this.
Let me start by saying this is extremely expensive. I have been using Perricone MD Neuropeptide Facial Cream since 2009 (only sold on the other channel) when I first noticed the sagging skin around my mouth and the nasal labial folds. This product has worked wonders for me and would never be without. In the past I tried to not use it and tried many other skin care lines for sagging but my face would start to sag and back I went. If I use just enough the tube usually lasts about 6 months.
I haven’t tried Perricone yet because of the cost. Will have to consider since you’ve noticed a difference. Thank you
It’s not like a “noticed” a difference there is a difference I have been using this since 2009 I am 66 years old.. I can’t say enough about this product it just works for me. I have had the red light therapy done that was a major waste of money. In addition, I have had eyelid surgery (2-3 years ago) they were very saggy and I am thrilled with the way they look. As the saying goes what one works for one does not work for another. I wish you luck in finding what works for you. Oh, and it does not cost as much as the other poster stated it’s $240.00 on it’s own, but, I always purchase it when it is a special value and it comes with other products and it’s less than the price of the cream. I’m not an employee of Perricone this product is just so awesome.
I am 72 and like Skin & Co.
Thank you, I will look into that line.
