Balling up on face…the Prai Face and neck cream duo
Is there something that I am doing wrong with the Prai products of the duo Neck and Face cream.
I saw others having the same problem.
I love the creams but I have to keep wiping my face, and it is not that I use a lot for I have been using face creams for years and I do know how to put it on my face and neck…
What is going on with the product? I usually love Prai products…
Darn! oh well, I also left a link for you and I think that was removed , are we unable to use links too? Oh FYI, Josie Maran oil is really good, dont toss it, I used that too.
Hi Tamrick, sorry to leave you hanging, gee I want to share more but this is in the end a anti make up solution, so I feel HSn is not going to appreciate it, and thats OK, because this is what it was for me, not neccessarily you, but if you want more info, drop me a line at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I will write you about my end results.

Rabbit and Tamrick …hope your weekend went well! Just took my dog out for a Frostie. She was walking around the house with the cup stuck on her face. It’s never happened before and she was just looking at me ….help? I wish I had my phone close by but I took it off. It looked funny…hysterical because she was confused …stunned. Omg I laughed.
Anyhow I only use eyes alive with under eye concealer. I put concealer on and I don’t care what claims anyone makes it settles in lines. I dab gently a bit if the eyes alive over the concealer and its perfect. Hydrated , sinks in and lines gone! I keep it in my handbag when I go out with concealer and touch up the dabs if it if it gets dry looking. I can’t remember when I have not used it! It’s a great trick. Cheers!
Hey BB ??…Thanks. Where are you?
What about products that our skin absorbs and keeps it smooth and young looking? I have been using M.Asam and I get compliments on my skin all the time. When I was at my new doctor who is a female she was shocked at my age and wanted to know what I was using. I did only use organic twenty years ago that was called Earth science. I think it was great but the lifting and firming was what had me on the search for more potent ingredients. I used Principle secret for ten years until HSN. Do organic products firm the jowls and help with wrinkles? I find if I don’t keep up with my skincare I look older because I let my skin rest and just use a light serum from Elysee and no cream. Isn’t there something to be said about results from some good products that are not entirely organic? Like I use eyes alive when I use under eye concealer and my under eyes have zero wrinkles or bags and I am comfortable enough to go out without makeup. No dark circles and my skin is brighter than ever. What’s wrong with the smooth porcelain look? Is it because its saturated with bad chemicals? That’s scary. I rather like the smoothness and always have been fair. I think I am more fair because I always use sunscreen now so I don’t have much color. I thought that was good. What about pores? Mine are no longer large and look like little craters on my areas in my upper cheeks beside my nose. I hated those!
Hi Tamrick, I will be happy to share what my experience was and what I learned and where I am, and I hope this helps my fellow beauties. Trust me …I am a total make up junkie and would never discourage indulgence unless circumstance were dire! That being said….In about 2007 I noticed in general more gunk, junk, weird stuff on my face, balls of this, crumbs of that, products not behaving nicely, and migrating, it almost made me hate make up. I exfoilited, scrubbed and did the whole nine yards, being a PTR affectionado. If he made it I bought it. UNWRINKLED I was, too the point that people did not believe my age. In fact my skin was unwrinkled. I thought products were just working, like WOW!
After a bit I felt my skin began to take on a plasticized appearance, it became lighter and even had a smooth porcelin type look. This is not my skin mind you, I am medium and well colored. I also noticed this plastic type feeling under my breast, in fact my bra would leave a sort of line that would not go away, as if the skin was beiing molded. So it was limited to my face, but that was the predominant area. I would put on serums and products and this was universal, it was not limited to one line..this phenomina is related to chemicals that are found in all lines. I had Olay, Clinique and many others do the ball job. Gross, you have to start all over. Well, isnt it rather obvious we are being way over sold, when your skin can not even breath and you layer crude on it and let it dry. Ladies, you skin is your largest organ, it has to breath!
I also noticed my mascara would self migrate, I thought it was smudging, I would put it on and within seconds I would see black balls and spots on my lids like it was crawling up on the lid, lol. AWFUL! At one point I saw some stuff come out of the pores, this was enough to shock me into action.
I bought a 15X magnification mirror and began to use deep cleaning organic oils, I started with argon oil, but any good organic oil will do, I quit all my night creams and went completely organic natural. So I would rub the oil in and I watched, I saw things come out of my skin. It is important to rub and put some pressure on the skin to help expell stuff and cleanse twice. What I believe is happening is that the chemicals are building up in us and have no where to go at a certain point, they can not be passed and are just building up in the skin and these chemicals are found everywhere in the environment. If you are haveing this issue your body is telling you something, and you need to listen. Yes, i wanted to think it was something much easier like let it dry, but things got worse before they got better. I will leave it at that for now unless you want to hear more, but i would lay off all the high tech stuff and go very simple and for day, a mineral type product over a simple sunscreen and a good organic cream at night.
I read an article in Allure Magazine…this specific issue was addressed. The article said that this balling up happens when each layer of product is not allowed to dry before the next layer is put on.
The person writing the article says that she take about a 35 to 45 minutes from start to finish to complete her face from wash to makeup done.
She washes face and neck first thing after brushing her teeth and…then she puts on the serums. Then she has a cup of coffee while it is drying…half through finshing the cup of coffee and listening to the news she puts on the next layer of creams…she picks out what she is going the wear then she puts on concealers…makeup, etc. Based on what she is saying drying time has to be allowed…I did not believe…so I tested.
I use the Prai Neck and Face Duo also but, I do not wear makeup. I had never experienced the balling up on the face that you and others have seen…This is what I did…
I washed and toned my face…then I put on the serums and then the creams…did not allow anything to dry before I put on the next layer…in about 10-15 minutes I saw little balls on my face.
This is the first time that I have not allowed one layer to dry before I put on the next one…and the article is correct…for some skin types drying time is required between the steps of adding layers.
Please try to allow one layer to completely dry on the skin before to add the next one…this will take you longer to get your face done in the mornings…but give it a try…adding the drying time make eliminate the problem for you. Good luck…
I used to have this problem with some other lines it became very upsetting, I would put stuff on and it would "ball up". The answer I found was not something you are going to like, but I can share if you have an open mind.
I agree with VENICE. M ASAM IS THE BEST- So sorry you have had this problem. I saw the reviews early enough to steer clear. If you decide to keep it do you have a facial oil ? if so apply a light amount prior to PRAI. This should ease the product down so it possibly will not ball up. I really suggest returning it so they know this is not acceptable.
I am hoping that the balling up will get better, but it doesn’t sound like it will according to all the replies.
I may have to find another brand…any ideas???? I usually love Prai products and was so excited about using this duo….???
Thank you all for your replies.
Perhaps different types of skin react differently to different brands. Some people have reactions too. I guess it’s all about finding what works best with your own chemistry. I also had the same pilling of the SSC glycolic moisturizer. It doesn’t absorb either. I kept it because I wanted to see if it worked at night. Its ok but never repurchasing. I wore it one day and didn’t notice the pilling until I was in my car driving. The balls pilled up when I applied blush. Pieces of gunk all over my face. I had to use a bottle of water and tissues and wipe my face down. It was all red. Disaster! Live and learn!
I had to throw away my Prai gold moisturizer as it balled up so badly I couldn’t put my makeup on no matter how long I waited to try to dust it on over that moisturizer. It would look like it had absorbed but if I touched face, it will just roll up into balls. I used to love Prai but no more; also, Perlier expensive honey moisturizer did the same thing! Lancome doesn’t, Dr Denese doesn’t and Korres doesn’t on me. Strange.
I have had this happen many times over the years.
I find it happens with products that are too rich for me. They don’t soak in.
About 2 or 3 years ago I had that issue with a Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing moisturizer (for dry skin). I don’t have dry skin, but it came with 2 other things to try as a kit.
It was too much for my skin. It balled up & I looked like a grease slick.
My daughter tried it and her skin just drank it in. Her skin looks dewy soft.
I switched to BM Naturally Luminous Purely Nourshing moisturizer ( pump bottle -combo skin) with great results & no balling. It’s much lighter. The lighter formula did nothing for my daughter. Funny enough, we both use the BM face wash & love it.
Now I’m using the JM argan oil, or Pure Argan MILK.
My daughter still uses the BM Purely Nourishing moisturizer (jar). She also uses the
Josie Maran argan Infinity Intensive Creamy oil depending on her mood.
So.. I guess what I’m saying is.. maybe the product is too rich for your skin?
I have not had a problem with the neck cream or the chin up serum balling up. My neck has greatly improved with just a couple of weeks of nightly use. Love these products!
