Alpha Skin Care
Has anyone used this? It is a body lotion. 12% Glycolic acid.
Do you like the Tan-luxe tanning oil? I have been reluctant to try it since it is an oil…concerned about streaks. I use the Tan Towels right now and they don’t streak.
@candron I love Tan-Luxe! TanTowels turned me orange and dried my skin out really bad, but I know ppl that swear by them. I guess they just don’t work well w my body chemistry, bc I know that I used them correctly.
Candron, I got mine at the very end of last summer, so I have barely used it yet (maybe 3 times total and not consistently) so I am not that much of an expert on it, but I did like it so far. I’ll be putting it to the test soon though.
No, I do not care for the Tan-Luxe! It left me orange!
I also, don’t care for the Tan-towels, they left me orange too.
The best tanner I have ever used is St. Moriz from amazon…also the cheapest. I apply with mitts bought from Walmart. I am white as white can be and am quite the expert at self-tanning…am 48 and have been doing it since I was 30, so I’ve been around the block a time or 2. So many faux tans look great…or so we think…but take a picture and you just may realize you look very very orange.
I will be using up my tan-luxe in between my regular tanning, because it does smell good and I already have it, but I will not re-buy it.
I use Pharmagel HydrO2xy-10®. It has 10% AHA + BHA and can be used on both the face and body.
HydrO2xy-10® is a moisturizing lotion concentrate for the face and body that helps your skin appear lifted and firmed. It contains both Glycolic Acid (AHA) and Salicylic Acid (BHA). BHA works as an exfoliator to help skin look rejuvenated. Glycolic Acid offers gentle, natural exfoliation. HydrO2xy-10® also contains stabilized oxygen for rapid absorption to help skin appear revitalized, firmed, and rejuvenated. The appearance of wrinkles and fine lines are diminished.
To Use: Apply to face and body morning and evening. *Also a great product to reduce the appearance of unsightly “chicken skin” bumps on the upper arms.
Salicylic Acid (BHA) – highly potent acid, with no irritation, promoting exfoliation without redness or drying. This ingredient encourages cleansing.
Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E) – improves the appearance of damaged and aging skin.
Safflower Oil – provides additional moisture to help reduce the appearance of the effects of everyday stressors.
Glycolic Acid (AHA) – derived from sugar cane, this remarkable ingredient helps skin appear smoother.
Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) – excellent moisturizing properties.
Stabilized Oxygen – helps skin look renewed.
Kemi, I know you use the Tan-luxe tanning oil. Do you use it with this lotion? I bought some tan-luxe last year, and I prefer to mix it with a thicker lotion so I use the Alpha because the Amlactin is thinner. Is the Hydrogel a thick or thinner lotion?
@slmangle The Pharmagel is a thin lotion. I mix the Tan-Luxe Oil w VersaSpa Intensifying Primer. It works the very best, bc it is thicker, extremely easy to blend, accelerates the development of color and eliminates odor. It is specifically designed to be used w self-tanner! It can be purchased at a tanning salon or online.
Thanks for your reply. I, too, use AmLactin and get really good results. As you say, it is inexpensive. I ran out of AmLactin and saw this advertised. I think I will try it.
I use several products from this line and really like them. Plus, they’re very affordable.
The body lotion is one of my 2 favorite body lotions, the other being AmLactin. Neither is anything fancy as far as feel or scent, (neither particularly smell all that good, as a matter of fact) but they work best at keeping my dry skin in check and that’s what I want in a body lotion.
