A Tisket A Task-et ~ Too Many Cosmetic & Facial Baskets 2015 >> In 2015
:womanmad::womanfrustrated:What A Long Challenge This Year 2015 Is Going To Be!! 🙂
I don’t know if anyone is having the same dilemna, as I promised Hubby To Stop My Shopping For Cosmetics and Every "YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS SERUM NO MORE WRINKLES, & WORKS INSTANTLY FOR EYE LINES"
oK, TOO many baskets, bins, cosmetic bags, mini bedroom refrigerator, AND YES CLEAN OUT ALL MY HANDBAGS, DRESSERS, CLOSETS, BATHROOM CABINETS.
Repeating to myself, there are expiration dates, get rid of those first!! Secondly, No not a ton of creams AND serums Mix
WITHOUT HARMING MY SKIN, NECK, EARS, DECOLATE, BODY, NAILS, FEET ETC. I NEED TO STOP THE MADNESS LOL, BREATHES SLOWLY TO CALM MY PANIC ATTACK. IT’S OFFICIAL, I NEED INTERVENTION!!
I have found it much more rewarding to purchase less creams because they do have expiration dates. If I have extra money I will spend it on other things I really need which donate some of the cost to charitable causes. Its great to spoil yourself however , extreme indulgence in oneself does not contribute to you character or give back to those less fortunate. I don’t find donations of personal products a sanitary safe practice. You are putting your fingers in the jars and its not fair to spread germs. Even if I could not afford great skin care I would ny a cheaper brand that no one has repeatedly immersed their fingers with bacteria. Who would want someone else’s nearly expired bacteria laden skin cream on their face? Basic hygienic practices are crucial with older people because they are so much more vulnerable to infection. My suggestion is buy less for yourself and buy some fresh new cream to donate because even older people in nursing homes deserve fresh clean beauty products. Certainly some things are not meant to be donated.
I enjoy buying products way too much to stop. It’s my thing and I love it. Good luck to you. Although I’m much more about color cosmetics than skin care. I’m pretty solid in my skincare routine.
I was a junkie until I found M.Asam. I use a few of their products for face and neck. Makeup is minimal but I use Lorac and add some various other lip-glosses’ from Revlon or Korres. I can’t afford korres body lotion so I use Bath and body works which is my staple go to for 20 years at least. Pink chiffon is luscious and I skip perfume some days cause it smells yummy. You just have to mix and match I guess but I wouldn’t trade my M.Asam for anything cheaper.
As a makeup artist, I cannot imagine a life without having it all.
My explination would be to look at your skincare as you do your hair care- Alternating both .
For me I personally cannot ever see me with one jar of cream, one vitamin, one piece of jewelry yet HAVING IT ALL. Skin can become immuned to any cream so I switch out.
I also memo my own mixture as I do at times use 3 different lines at once.
WHO’S COUNTING—–I cannot understand a life without all of the little extras- THE PAYOFF IS EXTRAVAGANT—–I am good with money, In Vegas they love me at Cezars, as I stay in the salon drinking up healthy mixtures while having my skin bathed in moisture , all my friends are in the casino slotting—COME SUN UP–I look FANTASTIC—-and my HSN beauty creams are all in tow.
LIVE, SHARE YOUR CREAMS AND TONICS- What you find dull for your face is an absolute for those feet, and patchy areas we forget at times-
ENJOY AND NEVER PLAY FRUGAL WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR SKIN AND BODY CARE.
Sounds like you have quite the collection and a lot of good stuff. Okay, I am jealous! I love Mally, too. Love her mascara and eyeliners. FYI- I love, love, love Tyra’s blush. I was always a Bobbi Brown gal, but bought Tyra’s kit during her presentation. Tyra’s blush is like something I have never used. Within seconds it blends into my face and gives instant cheek bones. I am not saying you should buy it, just for future reference. 🙂
Thank you to everyone who has replied and given me great insight 🙂
I almost purchased todays TS, and stopped, I love BFF Brows, and Love so much her yellow little kit concealer, yellow, Stacy is so down to earth, I love her presentations always!! Been following her since Models Prefer. She’s Gorgeous and Honest, I appreciate her doing her own makeup, and not a young girls virgin skin:) Adriene of Club Sig A is a must have a ton of her items. Love Her Products. Been following her for YEARS WOW. Puririty and Kelly West are my go to Must Haves for My Skin, as well as Philos. Microderm Wash. I use Vit. A & C and Caviar from part of my musts, and happy with them. I still have P. Wexler eye gel, which I like, and have used Ole Erick. gels, serums.
Going lighter on my makeup I love L Geller Champagne Primer, Mally poreless cream,. and her Mascara, bullet proof. I gave up all my deeper setting makeups, too much, makes you very old looking. Love It CC Cream, their powder and blush. My bronzer is L. Gel vanillas and her baked high lighter. My lips belong to CO Bigelow, and Mac. I don’t need anymore, or do I? I want to try tyras mascara, on my to do list.
OH NO MORE THIS HOUR, WELL, NEW NAMES HAVE TO WATCH IT ALL :))
MY OLD PERFUMES STAY CHILLED AS MY SERUMS, AND OTHER GOODIES IN THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS. THANK YOU FOR ACCEPTING ME ON THIS BOARD, You are all so helpful 🙂 🙂 much appreciated Happy New Year, TofDude xoxoxo
Oh my goodness ToffeeDude, I am right there with you. I admit, I am a skin care and cosmetics junkie. I have so many different products. Some I like, some not so much. I really like Perlier and Philosophy. I will eventually use them all, but I made a promise to myself that I am not buying any additional products until I use up what I already have. I was tempted the other day, but I didn’t order. I changed the channel. LOL!
YES—A new lipstick is a way to curb and buying spree in beauty, yet those add up to-You can now store these in your REFRIDGERATOR—–I know of 3 amazing creams that will launch this year and 2 of then right here on HSN—–
If you enjoy shopping and the excitment of a new beatuy item do so and if you find a new and more exciting cream as I often do you can use the other fab creams on your heel’s, back of hands, and all over—-THE CREAM IS NEVER TO RICH FOR THESE AREAS–AND REMEMBER THE BODY AS A WHOLE NEEDS CARE—–ENJOY LIFE ,NEVER FRETT OVER BEAUTY CREAM–IT IS ONE OF LIFES HISTORICAL AND CHERISHED GIFTS ONE CAN GIVE AND RECIEVE-
I have to say…I’ve not done too bad but do have a lot more than I used to.
I bought SSC when they were on…a C kit as a TS, some face washes pluse the Plush brush, a couple of olive oil items and then, what is really a favorite, a kit of A…I’ve got enough for many months with the C and A on auto delivery…noting, when I picked my auto ship dates, I put it out for 1 year each…figured that would give me time to decide if I want the kits, depending upon whether something better comes up.
I also just dug through a mountain of HSN invoices looking for order dates…then marked that date on all items with a Sharpie, so I don’t forget how new or old stuff is.
SSC is back with a TS this month…I hope it’s one of those lift creams because I do NOT want that! Hehe.
I agree that buying cosmetics can be just as ADDICITIVE as an ARCADE—–But AGAIN IF YOU ENJOY THE SCENT OF A NEW CREAM, OR ACTUALY USE WHAT YOU BUY THEN I SEE NO PROBLEM–NONE—-
ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF SHOPPING—–AND YES I HAVE SEEN CREAMS DRASTICLY WORK IN CORRECTING WRINKLES—–I WILL STAND FIRM ON THIS—-IF YOU LIKE A BEAUTY PRODUCT WHY DEPRIVE YOURSELF—–AGAIN PLENTY OF WATER, AND NEVER ENOUGH OF BEAUTY CREAM—-Take time from unimportant things and spend time on your skin, and the care of it-
I need help too way to much skincare and makeup just sitting around, what was I thinking when I bought all this stuff and still watching the skincare shows and makeup Help!!!!!:womansad:
toffeedude…I totally understand what you are going thru. I went thru it a couple years ago and what a liberating experience it was! It’s hard to let go and stop listening, and believing, all the hype…there are some things out there that do "help" but nothing is going to erase everything.
I cleaned out the cosmetic bags, handbags, cabinets, closets, bins…everything. Gave away LOADS of Bare Minerals…threw out more money in expired cosmetics, creams, lotions and potions than I ever what to admit. But I made a promise to myself that I wasn’t going to go down that road anymore.
I started drinking more water, hydrating my skin did a lot for plumping up the few lines and wrinkles that I had.
I love my laugh lines..they say I smile and laugh a lot. That’s a good thing I think.
I have a good moisturizer, a good face wash, and a good arsenal of makeup that a wear…not a lot but some. I good sunscreen! Definitely!!! But that’s it.
It made for more room in my cabinets, drawers and closets…I cleaned out a lot of makeup cases…I am down to ONE! I have a happier hubby…I can do all my makeup in less than 5 minutes, my night ritual takes seconds and it’s done.
Life is easier…my Dermatologist tells me my skin looks great and is healthy and I have more money for important things…like Heidi Daus!
I’m here for you…you can do it. It just takes making up your mind, admitting you have a problem and asking for help. That’s the first step…LOLOL You can do it!!!!! I have faith in you!
BTW… a refridgerator?????? :smileywink:
