I bought it several years ago and sent it back. I forget what my body type was, but it required me to eat fish several times a day, and I also think you had to drink around 2 gallons of water per day. I hate seafood and I certainly cannot drink that much water.
I also bought it a few years back and ended up returning it. No dairy, no salt, basically I could eat plain chicken and vegetables. Also the "exercise less" required one hour of walking per day in addition to the "less" exercise.
I ordered a while back, put it all together and it didn't tell me anything that most of the other basic diets said. I sent it back. I've done much better at losing wieght on my own. Got some slim fast powder shake mix (the vanilla is divine and the chocolate isn't bad either!) and I lost 16lbs.
Slim Fast contains sugar, sugar and more sugar, hyrdogenated oils and chemicals.
I would suggest passing on the Slim Fast and give Michael Thurmond a try. His plan lets you eat quite a bit of food and it's all fresh; and you are never hungry because you eat all day long.
Still I lost 16 lbs. and counting. I don't have time to prepare all these meals so I can eat all day. I don't want to be eating all day anyway. Every few hrs. I HAVE to eat. I don't care how small the portions are I don't want to eat all day. I would rather discipline myself and drink my shake, have a snack when I want it and have my sensible dinner. I didn't do a single exercise and I lost the weight slowly and have been maintaining it even without the shakes for the last month since christmas (when I went off teh slimfast) Now I'm heading back to it to lose another ten lbs. and then begin my strength training to maintain and build muscle. By summer I will be right where I want to be.
If his plan works for you thats all well and good but it won't work for everyone just as my plan won't work for everyone either not just because our bodies are different but because we behave differently and have different personality types. Find the one that works for you and gets the results you want. For me it was those delicious slimfast shakes that I used with regular milk.
I read through his plan and it was basically what all the other plans tell you about carbs and such even had one that was similar to the atkins diet. So not worth the money. If you really want to try it and you can return it even after it being open do so read it and then send it back. I did and didn't bother to follow what he said for me.
I got the program several years ago, lasted about 6 weeks, and fell off it with a vengeance. Then I gave it another try starting this past September. The difference was that this time, I was highly motivated by the threat of knee surgery, and the inability to walk due to severe arthritis. I am only 53, and that is too young to be that crippled if you can avoid it. I knew I had to get the weight off and do it healthily. It's not for everyone, but I have to say that it is healthy, you are busy eating all the time, and if you give it three weeks, you will get in the groove with the food preparation and with becoming accustomed to the no salt/no fat/no sugar rules. I've lost a little over 40 pounds on it at this point, and the weight loss itself was extremely motivating! There's no magic to it, but I think Thurmond does an excellent job of putting it all together, and telling you why and how it will work. Moreover, once you have the program, you have all the components you need forever. I compare it to Weight Watchers, where you pay forever unless you get to lifetime membership, and it seems like a bargain.
Anyway, that's just my take. If it is in your library, I agree that it would be a good thing to review before purchasing, since a lot of people absolutely cannot abide the restrictions.
The 6WBMO is the most fantastic diet that I have ever been on. I am not computer savvy, but when my daughter comes home I will post before and after pix.
This diet is designed for you and you alone. The food is natural, you have your choice of food, no preservatives, you lose weight fast and get healthy. Do any of you really believe that chemicals or pre-packaged food that expires in the next millenium is good for you? Of course you should do without added salt and drink plenty of water, but what Doctor wouldn't tell you that. Once you get this home, this is not for your friend, your sister, brother or daughter. This is for you and you alone. If you follow the program the pounds melt away, and they melt faster than any other program you have ever been on.
If your hesitant DON"T BE!!!. I ordered this in 2004 out of desperation. I was on the protein diet and before 10 am in the morning I had eaten cheese, eggs, bacon and I said "What am I doing, this isn't going to work" Then I saw MT on HSN and with tears in my heart I ordered the 6WBMO and promised that I would follow the program exactly and if it didn't work I would surely let Michael Thurmond and HSN know about it. In less than 4 months I lost 40 pounds. Now 4 years later I put the weight back on, my own fault, and I have recently took off 38 pounds (again in less than 4 months) and I have reached my goal weight of 115. I am 52. I will post pix later. Anyone can do this, and if you need to lose weight, this is for you. NO FROZEN or PRE=PACKAGED MEALS THAT EXPIRE IN 2014. NO CHEMICALS.
HOW CAN THAT POSSIBLEY MAKE YOU HEALTHY. YOU MAY LOSE WEIGHT, BUT THINK OF
WHAT YOU ARE EATING. Can spaghetti and meatballls that can stay in a box till 2014 possibly be good for you. Think about it. Order this and you will thank me, you deserve to look great and feel great. This diet is easy, healthy and specifically designed for YOU. There is no other plan out there like this. Trust me!!! I will post pix soon.
