Can anyone tell me which would be better - the AT&T or Panasonic cordless phones with answering machine? I currently have a Panasonic 5.8 GHz and wondered if the new DECT 6.0 GHz would make that much of a difference in operation. I really have no complaints about the Panasonic I have but sometimes there is static because of wireless interference. I just wondered which one was best and if it would be worth it to upgrade to 6.0.
rockysmom2001 - Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, (DECT), was used commercially in many parts of the world before gaining U.S. government approval in 2005. By reserving these channels exclusively for voice communication, they're less likely to experience interference from other wireless devices such as baby monitors, garage door openers and wi-fi networks. If that's not the case in your location, there's no need to upgrade.
I got the Vtech DECT phone set. I have had DSL for years, and my phone quality has been getting worse and worse. Then my DSL would drop if I used a phone and my laptop. Would you believe even after repeated calls to my phone co, who is also my ISP, they had NO suggestions other than buy a new modem or get fiber optic?? I got the DECT and what do you know... NO more issues. So, if you are having interference with your wireless modem, printer, etc I would try it. Can't hurt!
